We have a new litter of chucky monkeys born on April 16, 2024. Have not posted before now as mother had an emergency C Section and we needed to keep her quiet and not active for 30 days.

Thanks so much to Walker Road Animal Hospital in Windsor for their care of Momma Destiny (call name Desi) and her babies. Mother is Destiny and father is Blue

In this litter we have
1 Red Merle Male with natural long tail
1 Blue Merle Female with natural bob tail
2 Red Tri males with 1 natural bob tail & 1 natural long tail.
2 Black Tri males with natural bob tails.
Most of these puppies will have blue eyes like their father.

Will be taking pictures as soon as possible and posting them.

Our little black tri boy has found his people with children to love and play with him. His name is Atlas and here are the comments from his family. ""He seems to enjoy car rides, he's like a baby and sleeps once we start moving, he also loves the kids! He doesn't jump on them instead he'll sit by your feet staring at you to pet him. "" He was overlooked because he was a black tri but he is one of the most laidback and loving puppies and has found a great home.

These 10 breeds make the best therapy dogs, according to experts

Just as many breeds wouldn’t cut it as service dogs, not every pup is meant to be a therapy dog. “Therapy dogs are dogs who go with their owners to volunteer in settings such as schools, hospitals, and nursing homes,” says American Kennel Club (AKC) Family Dog Director Mary Burch. “From working with a child who is learning to read to visiting a senior in assisted living, therapy dogs and their owners work together as a team to improve the lives of other people.”

Good therapy dogs like people and have the basic training needed to result in a dog that is under control, says Burch. They should also know some therapy-specific skills such as “Leave it” and “Go say hello.” Most good therapy dogs are social and biddable.

Here, Burch shares a round-up of breeds that have the personality and trainability to excel at therapy work.

Aussies are extremely smart, versatile, and trainable. They have a ton of mental drive and physical stamina which can be channeled into many different types of jobs, therapy work being one of them.

Full brother and sister but so totally different in shape and size and temperament. Charlotte is more laid back and Blue is lets go do something. Both are loving lower energy Aussies.

Neither is acceptable by CKC standards as Charlotte is too small and Blue has prick years. But we were looking for family oriented dogs not show dogs.

The U.S Food and Drug Administration has issued two Warning Letters in recent weeks. These are not recalls.

The FDA sent a Warning Letter to Primal Pet Foods, Inc. of Fairfield, California, due to serious safety violations which led to the food being adulterated.

The company produces multiple dog food and dog treat products.

A Warning Letter has also been issued to Arrow Reliance Inc. of Tukwila, Washington, after Salmonella was found in unopened samples of Natural Selections Antibiotic & Grain-Free Chicken Recipe for Cats and Natural Selections Antibiotic & Grain-Free Turkey Recipe for Cats.

Arrow Reliance has also been warned about the use of peroxyacetic acid (PAA) in its pet food formulas. The FDA deems PAA to be an “unapproved/unsafe animal food additive”, however, Arrow Reliance says it uses the additive as a pathogen mitigation method to reduce the risk of E. coli and Salmonella in its raw pet food formulations.

SORESTO FLEA COLLARS IN COURT
Seresto flea collars have been linked to at least 98,000 adverse incidents and 2,500 pet deaths since their release in 2012
The terrible safety record prompted the House Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy to hold a hearing last week.
Owners of deceased pets and representatives from the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and Soresto manufacturer Elanco assembled to look at the EPA's “failure to regulate the Seresto collar as well as Elanco’s refusal to take action to protect pets and their owners from the collar’s harm.”
The subcommittee's investigation includes a 22 page report that details how Seresto “may be the most dangerous flea and tick product on the market.”
They also claim that the EPA knew it.
The committee claims the EPA knew Seresto had the highest rate of illness and death compared to all other flea products.
“Compared to the second most dangerous product, Seresto had nearly three times the rate of total incidents, and nearly five times the rate of ‘Death’ or ‘Major’ incidents. Compared to the third most dangerous product, the Seresto collar had nearly 21 times the rate of total incidents, and over 35 times the rate of ‘Death’ or ‘Major’ incidents,” the report said.
