Offered for sale, 15.2 h 2014 Holsteiner/Thoroughbred mare. This mare is green for her age; backed as a 4 year old and ridden for about 2 years, she then produced 2 foals and was ridden only occasionally until we purchased her in early April. We purchased her to retrain over the summer to ideally become a horse for our riding program in the fall, but we ended up with a 2nd project type that will likely be more suitable and we don’t have the time to bring both along. We essentially had to restart her and as such she is only currently going walk-trot with some pole work or an occasional canter. Not spooky at all, but can be anxious when she’s worried so will need a relatively experienced rider to get her going. She’s very friendly and nice to handle, she can live in or out. Very sound, but x-rays are not clean, PM for info.

Cette jument est green pour son âge ; dompter à l'âge de 4 ans et montée pendant environ 2 ans, elle a ensuite produit 2 poulains et n'a été montée qu'occasionnellement jusqu'à ce que nous l'achetions début avril. Nous l'avons achetée pour l’entrainer au cours de l'été afin qu'elle devienne idéalement un cheval pour notre programme d'équitation à l'automne, mais nous nous sommes retrouvés avec un 2ème projet qui sera probablement plus adapté et nous n'avons pas le temps pour travailler les deux. Nous avons essentiellement repartie le cheval de la base et pour cette raison, elle fait actuellement que du pas et trot avec des pôles ou un galop occasionnel. Pas spooky du tout, mais peut être anxieuse lorsqu'elle est inquiète et aura donc besoin d'un cavalier relativement expérimenté pour continuer son entrainement. Elle est très gentille au sol et agréable à manipuler, elle peut vivre dedans ou à l’extérieur. Très sain, mais les radiographies ne sont pas clean, MP pour info.

Looking for a client: School horse type that can go around a 2'6 course, lead changes and show experience is a big bonus. Nothing green, anxious, or 'hot', needs to know how to jump around safely. 15h+, not picky with breed or s*x. Would like to purchase but would also do an affordable summer lease. Budget highest 4s to keep.

What is The Trotters Club?
The Trotters Club is Greystone’s Introductory Riding Program. It is a 10-week program aimed at giving beginner riders a solid foundation of equine safety and teaching the basics of English Riding. Whether the rider is looking to do horseback riding as a competitive sport or for leisure, we hope to give each rider a solid base, both mounted and unmounted. After the program, riders can choose to stay part of the team at Greystone and check out our various leasing options.

**Criteria**
- Student must be at the beginner level and at least 8 years of age. Adults are welcome!
- Students under the age of 13 must have a parent present and ready to participate in the stable (unmounted).

**Important Information**
- The program is 10 weeks total, beginning the week of April 1, and ending the week of June 10. No classes the week of May 13th.
- A helmet and boots are required. Once registered a more detailed message with what to expect and how to dress will be sent.

Cost - $550 (Includes a grooming kit which you’ll have the option to purchase for $15 at the end of the 10-week program).

Once you have received confirmation of your spot in one of the groups, a $100 deposit is required within 24 hours to secure it.

This is why we love our current programs! Hannah is 23 years old but you’d never know it. After years of running a successful riding school, we decided our school horses were better suited to our current lease program versus the traditional weekly lesson model. In our Leasing Program, Hannah now jumps 3 times per week and is always seen by the same 3 riders who know her well. They notice when she is behaving differently, when her weight fluctuates, or when there seems to be an issue with her equipment. This way we’re better able to stay on top of her happiness and comfort. It's because of this program that at 23 years old she’s sound, in good weight, and happy to teach her riders the ropes.

That doesn’t mean that we no longer give lessons. It just means that the riders we have get to have ‘their own horse’ when they come. Our school horses are now split between 3 riders who come to see and ride them generally twice per week. We’re also happy to start new riders (young & old) in our beginner program, Trotters Club. This is a 10-12 week program designed to introduce students to English Riding and horse care/safety so that they can also join our Lease Program when they’re ready.

C'est pourquoi nous aimons nos programmes actuels ! Hannah a 23 ans mais ne fait pas son âge. Après des années de gestion réussie d'une école d'équitation, nous avons décidé que nos chevaux d'école étaient mieux adaptés à notre programme de location actuel qu'au modèle traditionnel de cours hebdomadaires. Dans notre programme de location, Hannah saute désormais 3 fois par semaine et est toujours vue par les 3 mêmes cavaliers qui la connaissent bien. Ils remarquent quand elle se comporte différemment, quand son poids fluctue ou quand il semble y avoir un problème avec son équipement. De cette façon, nous sommes en mesure de rester au courant de son bonheur et de son confort. C'est grâce à ce programme qu'à 23 ans, elle est en bonne santé, bon poids et heureuse d'apprendre les ficelles du métier à ses cavaliers.

Cela ne veut pas dire que nous ne donnons plus de cours. Cela signifie simplement que les cavaliers que nous avons auront « leur propre cheval » lorsqu’ils viennent. Nos chevaux d'école sont désormais répartis entre 3 cavaliers qui viennent les voir et les monter généralement deux fois par semaine. Nous sommes également heureux d'accueillir de nouveaux cavaliers (jeunes et vieux) dans notre programme pour débutants, Trotters Club. Il s'agit d'un programme de 10 à 12 semaines conçu pour initier les étudiants à l'équitation anglaise et aux soins/sécurité des chevaux afin qu'ils puissent également rejoindre notre programme de location lorsqu'ils sont prêts.

4 year old Thoroughbred gelding, 16h sticked today. He’s had some downtime and is ready to get to work this spring! Great brain under saddle and so pleasant and easy to have around and handle. Currently green walk, trot, canter and some rails. Steers and brakes well, picks up both leads. I could see him making a great school horse with some finishing, but due to his age and training level, still requires an intermediate+ rider.

Hongre Thoroughbred de 4 ans, mesure 16h présentement . Il a eu un peu de temps off et il est prêt à se mettre au travail maintenant !Super attitude avec la selle et si agréable et facile à transporter et à manipuler. Actuellement débute son entraînement au pas, trot, galop et quelques rails. Il ce dirige et arrête bien et prendre les 2 pieds au galop. Je le vois faire un excellent cheval d'école avec quelques finitions, mais en raison de son âge et de son niveau d'entraînement, il nécessite toujours un cavalier intermédiaire+.

ISO a novice friendly 'first show horse type' to add to our Leasing Program. Horse would be leased in house by 1-2 riders each year, not looking for a school/lesson horse.

- 6 -16 yrs

- 15.2+, ideally over 16h

- Must be well schooled over fences with a lead change. Show experience a big +

Reasonable maintenance is ok. Horse will be in a program and will get training rides when necessary. Prefer that it lives in, but can live out if it's happier. Thoroughbreds welcome but nothing 'hot' please.

Budget high 4s with a bit of wiggle room for the right horse.

Quintessential is a 15.3h, coming 10 year old reg Westphalen/CSHA mare.
She was purchased as a jumper prospect because of her fantastic breeding (Quidam Blue x Quidam de Revel), scope for days and a super personality. She has good movement but an especially great canter. She is well mannered, great to clip, farrier and on trails. Absolutely no spook or stop and can be handled by a child.

Here is the catch: Quinn has a head toss problem to and after fences. We have investigated many avenues with few results. She has been vetted by several of Ottawa-area’s top vets and has been cleared for all levels of performance, but the head-toss is currently preventing this.
She was recently given a year off to be a broodmare but unfortunately, did not catch. She did however have 3 embryos flushed and frozen.
She’s currently barefoot, living out and super fat and sound.

She is ready to start a new career. As a jumper, she would need to find someone with some patience to restart her and the intention of further investigating the head toss or with their own experience on how to work with it. She could be suitable for other jobs, but we haven’t tried her as much else. All of her vet files and history can be made available.

Please feel free to ask us any questions. We are fully transparent about her but don’t want her to end up in the wrong situation.

1) Prefer large pony, but would also look at a hunter-type thbd/small horse. Looking for a petite teen in a program to bring along. I expect green but needs to know the basics at least, the more training the better. Low 4 figure to lease or high 4s to own. Lease to own would be ideal!
2) Hunter type horse to go up to 2'6. Needs to be relatively quiet and straight forward. Show miles a plus, reasonable maintenance ok. High 4s, purchase only.

Hugo Boss, 2015 grade Warmblood gelding standing 16.1+.
Sweet, handsome, and reliable, this guy is a pleasure to have around.
We have been riding him as a Hunter but he could also Event or do Dressage. Shown lightly in the Hunter and Jumper ring this past season. Has done miles of trail riding and even gone hunting before that.
He is still green for his age, so requires at least an intermediate rider. Lead change is a work in progress, but is there over rails.
Clean recent flexions, no x-rays on file. Currently barefoot and up to date on shots, worming and teeth.
Low 5 figures to own, no lease option.

Doux, beau et fiable, il est un plaisir à côtoyer.
Nous l'avons entraîné pour faire les chasseurs mais il démontre de bonne attitude pour faire du concour complet ou du Dressage.
Il a sortit à quelques concours dans les chasseurs et sauteur la saison dernière.
Avant nous, il a fait beaucoup de randonné et de la chasse a cours.
Il est encore vert pour son âge, il nécessite donc au moins un cavalier intermédiaire. Le changement de pied est un travail en cours, mais il est là sur les pôles.
Flexions récentes, sains, pas de radiographies au dossier. Actuellement pieds nus et à jour sur les vaccins, les vermifugations et les dents.
Bas 5 chiffres pour acheter, pas d'option de location.

Standing just under 13h, this guy has a miles-long show record ranging from Short Stirrup to Medium Pony Hunter. His owner would like to compete in the Medium Pony Hunter classes on the Ottawa Trillum Circuit next year so he is ideally looking for a half leasor that would like to show locally, or that would like to show Crossrail, Intro Hunter or Shorties in Ottawa Trillium. Shooting Star or ‘Zac’ as he is affectionately known is an ISR/Oldenburg and Half-Welsh registered Sport Pony gelding by Starry Night out of a Sir Wanabi mare. Currently standing 13.3 hands, he will finish a top of the line Large Pony. Champion c**t at his inspection, he currently has a full brother showing in London, Ontario and 2 full sisters with extensive line careers in the US, including Champion at Devon.
This pony is friendly and calm, he’s a great mover, and shows an easy lead change at liberty. He’s a great prospect for the Pony Cup in 2024, and will make a top hunter pony in the future. Up to date on everything. Priced low 5-figures, located in Rigaud QC.
