Holy heatwave🔥🔥!
I’m pretty pleased to say that my barn cooling methods are working well!
It’s 71F in the barn, and 91 outside the doors. Horses are all in, very happy to be in the shade , out of the heat and damn bugs bugs!

Boarding horses means you see every type of horse/human relationship. Some are good, some are disturbing, many u settling!
For every person that never corrects their horse, never teaches it any manners, and makes excuses for its ill behaviours that put the people who deal with your horse at risk (farrier, barn staff, body workers, vet etc.). This is YOUR FAULT!!
You will never love your horse into being ‘good’! YOU will never pay another person to ‘train’ YOUR horse manners. YOU will remain the weak-link! Putting others at risk and ultimately the life of the horse at risk!
You will be the reason your horse doesn’t have the brightest future after you move on.

I think that often, we credit the VERY deep-pockets of these competitors for getting them to this level, and there is NO DOUBT that is a HUGE contributing factor in their success.

* 24/7 water access (outdoor waters heated in winter)

* maximum turnout hours (winter 8-12 hours daily and summer 18-20 hours daily)
* grassed fields maintained and rotated for max grazing
* grain fed twice daily (grain and supplements at owners expense)

All things considered in this crazy weather, we made out pretty well. We won’t be walking on the lawn or fields for a couple days, but, can’t complain about that too much.
Paddocks are perfect with no mud. Outdoor ring will be great tomorrow.
An added bonus? All the horses are squeaky clean🤣.
