During the month of Easter, cases of lily toxicosis in cats skyrocket. Even just a dusting of pollen can kill an adult cat.

Please keep lilies out of your cat ruled home this spring, and if you’re thinking of getting an Easter gift for someone, consider if they have a feline friend before bringing them a lily plant.

🦷✨February is Dental Health Month✨🦷

Here are some fun facts about feline dental health!

1. Studies show 80-90% of cats over the age of 3 years old have dental disease.

2. Poor dental care is linked to other severe health issues, including heart and kidney disease, and decreases the lifespan of pets.

3. Prevention is MUCH easier and much less expensive than treatment. There are lots of cheap ways you can slow down the progression of dental disease at home!

4. Most cats will hide their signs of pain. This is true for many illnesses, but dental disease especially tends to fly beneath the radar because it is not always easy to visualize. By the time the cat starts showing its pain in ways such as increased drooling, changes in eating behaviour, and eye/nose discharge, the cat is usually experiencing extreme pain & severe disease that requires multiple tooth extractions.

This month we will be sharing tips and tricks for keeping your cat’s mouth healthy and pain free! We encourage you to have dental care on your radar all throughout the year, but we hope this month will bring some extra awareness to your kitty’s teeth!

✨📸 Do you have a picture of your kitty looking extra cute? Send them to us for a chance to be featured as the photo in one of our educational posts! This is Walter- showing off his beautiful teeth 😸

This is an easy guide to get you started. As you & your cat advance, teaching tricks like laying down or rolling over can make your cat more comfortable during a veterinary exam.

We recommend getting a clicker (a very cheap & and inexpensive training tool) to help your cat better understand what you want them to do, but it’s not necessary!

Try teaching your feline friend a trick and post a pic in the comments! Have any questions? Ask away!

Reading Time: 5 minutes Share onCats can’t be trained. How many times have you heard that statement? I’m here to tell you that it’s not true. Most cats can–and should–learn how to do a few simple tricks. Some, such as coming when called, are useful, and others, such as giving a high five, ...
