Reminders
As you know we require all dogs staying with us (or getting groomed) to be fully vaccinated. But reminder - they must be up to date on all vaccines 2 WEEKS prior to coming to the kennel. If they are getting their annual shots and are still ‘up to date’ they are good to come directly after their shots. If they haven’t been vaccinated for a long period of time/ever, then they must wait the full 14 days following their shots before coming. If you have any questions regarding this please ask!

With that being said - Your reservation is NOT confirmed until we receive AND approve your dogs vaccine records. Please send them when you are booking so we can review and hold your spot/let you know if they are out of date/etc. Until this happens your spot is not held and could be filled.

Updates
As of October 1st, 2024, we will be increasing our prices. This includes overnight stays as well as daycare.

We will also be changing the way we charge for day care. We will no longer be doing our ‘10 day packs’. Our new system is as follows - If you bring your dog two or more times a week you will be considered a daycare dog & charged the rate for that. If you come once a week or less (random) you will be charged the basic day fee each time.

We will be posting updated prices in the follow weeks to be valid starting October 1! 🙂 Thank you!

If you haven’t noticed already, we did some revamping here at The Barking Lot! We decided that having many smaller outdoor kennels was defeating the purpose of getting the dogs outside and running in the sun. So instead we removed the ones you used to see outside & made a few larger pens so that your dog has all the space to sniff around and roam!

We also decided to keep a few of those ‘smaller’ outdoor kennels and move them to the arena area! This way if your dog is reactive, elderly, scared or anything they can use one of these smaller kennels but still be included in some of the action during play times!

And as always we have our trusty arena space for when it’s raining, snowing, or your dog just really wants to kick it into high gear 😂

We’ve put a lot of thought into the way we’ve set up all these outdoor kennel spaces and how many we have. We understand that all dogs don’t get along, or have other needs and can’t be socialized with some of the others, and that’s ok! We pride ourselves on getting your dog ample outdoor and/or social time! 😊🐶🌤️

R•E•M•I•N•D•E•R 🦮🐕‍🦺

Please ensure that you are using a leash on your dog from your vehicle - all the way into your dogs kennel - and vice versa! I know sometimes it can be ‘no big deal’ to let them run out and jump in the vehicle, but we cannot guarantee that someone is not dropping off/picking up at the same time, a dog is being let out of their kennel for let outs, or any other reason that other dogs may not be secure in their kennels!

We just want to make sure all dogs are kept safe and controlled during these times, because - just like people - not all dogs get along 😉🐶

With the busy holiday season upon us, I want to repost The Barking Lot’s Cancellation Policy so everyone is aware of it!

•We require a 24 hour notice of cancellation which will then result in no charge to you.
•If the cancellation is less than 24 hours notice you will be charged for a one night stay.
•If you fail to cancel at all and are a no show then you will be charged for the entire booked that you made.
•These charges must be paid in full before your next booking.

The Barking Lot has some exciting news!!

“Hi everyone! I am Geri Sorensen. Starting September 1st I will be offering grooming services out of The Groom Room at The Barking Lot kennel! I am SO excited to meet your dogs!!! ... and you too!

I live on an acerage outside of Rocanville with my 2 kids, my dog Molly and 2 cats. I have lived in Rocanville for almost 10 years. I love the community and people here. It is a wonderful place to call home.

I have always had a passion for animals. My whole life I have wanted to work with animals in some capacity or another. I wanted to be a vet when I was young but I think I am too sensitive for the sad stuff. My dog Molly is my best friend and we are attached at the hip. You're going to end up seeing a lot of her on this page and hanging around the kennel I'm sure.

Exciting things happening over at The Barking Lot! This has been in the works for awhile now but just needed the time, right weather etc. to get it done! There absolutely is still some tweaking to be done for aesthetic purposes but they are more than ready to be used and we are so excited for these new, large, outdoor pens!! 😁

Now these aren’t like the pens we currently have, which are a lot smaller and more of an outdoor hangout spot for small groups of dogs. These pens are large playing/run areas! The trees and bush provide lots of shade, places for the dogs to play hide & seek, obstacles to run around, and just you know - have an adventure!

We are very much looking forward to watching the dogs enjoy themselves in this new space out in the fresh air! And if the weather isn’t great, we move them to the arena. It’s a win win no matter what!

With the heat we are having these days, here’s a good reminder for your pets (not just dogs). 🐶🐱

Make sure they are getting adequate time out of the sun, no long exercise sessions at a time, lots of water, and all that good stuff!

At the Barking Lot we are always watching to make sure each dog is doing alright and getting water breaks during play time, whether in the arena or outside, each dog has different limits and some need cooled down sooner than others! Let’s work together to keep all our pets safe & comfortable in these hot seasons! ☺️☀️

It is very toasty out these days! 🥵And even on the rainy days like today, it’s very humid! That’s why we are so glad that not only do we have the arena for the dogs to get out of the elements and direct sunlight, but we have AC! ❄️ We love getting everyone out in the fresh air (and sunlight) but when they start to look like these two, it’s time to cool down! 😉☀️🕶️
