Today, I also had the pleasure of meeting Stella, an adorable cockapoo, who came in for her very first big girl haircut!

She started off a little shy but with plenty of gentle care, she came out of her shell, showering me with kisses and wagging her tail.

She did amazingly well and I’m thrilled to see her leave looking beautiful and confident!

🌺 Honoring Remembrance Day 🌺

Today, we pause to remember and honor the incredible bravery and sacrifice of those who have served.

Remembrance Day is a time for us to reflect on the courage and dedication of the men, women, and even the loyal animals who stood by their side in times of conflict.

Our pets, too, have played important roles in history, providing companionship, assistance, and support to those in uniform.
From military working dogs who served on the front lines to therapy animals who brought comfort in times of need, animals have been loyal and unwavering companions.

As we take time to remember, let us also appreciate the freedoms we have and the sacrifices that made them possible.

Today, we wear a poppy and hold gratitude in our hearts for the heroes of yesterday and today. 🌹

🐾 Today I had the pleasure of welcoming Gord, for his first grooming spaw day! 🐾

Gord is the definition of a gentle soul—just a little nervous at first but he quickly settled in with some gentle reassurance and he offered plenty of cuddles.

His sweet, patient nature made it a joy to help him look and feel his best!

I’m so grateful to have had the chance to pamper this handsome boy and make his first grooming experience a positive one.

Can’t wait to see him again! 💛✨

🎃👻 Keep Your Pets Safe and Happy This Halloween 👻🎃

Halloween brings excitement and spooky fun, but it also poses unique risks for our pets.

Here are some in-depth tips to keep your furry friends safe and stress-free this season:

1. Beware of Dangerous Treats 🍫🍬

Many popular Halloween treats, like chocolate, xylitol-sweetened candies, raisins, and certain nuts, can be extremely toxic to pets.
Even in small amounts, these can lead to serious health issues such as vomiting, seizures, and organ failure.

Store candy securely, well out of reach, and remind children and guests not to share treats with pets.

2. Costume Safety: Choose Comfort Over Style 🐾👗

If you’re dressing up your pet, make sure their costume is safe and comfortable.
Avoid outfits with tight elastics, small buttons, or choking hazards.
Make sure your pet can see, breathe, and move freely. Introduce the costume slowly to check for any signs of discomfort or stress, and remember—if they aren’t comfortable, it’s okay to skip the costume!

3. Decorate with Caution 🎃🕸️

Halloween decorations can be enticing to pets but also pose dangers.
Keep candles, string lights, electrical cords, and hanging decorations out of reach.
Curious pets may try to chew on or knock over decorations, which can lead to burns, shocks, or ingestion of dangerous materials.

4. Prepare for Doorbell Disruptions 🚪🔔

For many pets, a constantly ringing doorbell and unfamiliar visitors in costumes can cause anxiety. Consider setting up a quiet room where your pet can relax away from the front door.
For especially anxious pets, background music or a white-noise machine can help mask the sounds.

5. Ensure Proper Identification 🆔🐶

With the door opening frequently, there’s a risk of pets slipping outside unexpectedly.
Make sure they’re wearing a well-fitted collar with updated ID tags. That way, if they do get lost, there’s a much better chance they’ll make it back home safely.

6. Be Cautious with Trick-or-Treaters 🧛👧

Pets may be scared or become reactive when they see people in costumes, especially with masks or loud, unusual noises.
Supervise pets around guests, and keep them leashed or in a secure room if there’s any risk of fearful or aggressive reactions.

It’s been a busy and beautiful fall grooming day with these wonderful pups! 🍁🍂

🐾 Lucky, the adorable Yorkie, got a sleek and super short cut today! This makes it easier for his owner to manage regular baths at home, helping with his ongoing skin care needs.

🐾 Nala and Molly both had a deshed treatment, perfect for reducing their shedding as the cooler weather sets in. Their coats are now ready for cozy fall snuggles without all the extra hair around the house.

🐾 Sully came in for a smart, short hairstyle that will keep him clean and tangle-free during his autumn adventures! No more dirt or leaves clinging to his coat as he explores the outdoors.

Every dog has unique needs, and I love tailoring each groom to fit their lifestyle—whether it’s managing skin issues, reducing shedding, or keeping their coats practical for the season ahead. 🍂

Tick Alert for Dog Owners – Protect Your Pets and Family!

With cooler weather setting in, it’s easy to think tick season is over, but I’ve been seeing an increase in ticks on dogs recently.

Ticks remain active in the fall and can be harmful not only to your pets but also to humans.
These tiny pests can carry diseases like Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, and ehrlichiosis, which can seriously affect both dogs and people.

To reduce the risk, keep checking your pets and family members after any outdoor activities.

Focus on common hiding spots like behind the ears, between toes, under collars, and along the hairline for humans.

Here are a few important tips:

• Inspect your dog daily after walks or hikes, especially if they’ve been in wooded or grassy areas.

• Regularly check yourself and your family, as ticks can easily transfer from pets to humans.

• Remove ticks immediately if found, and watch for symptoms of tick-borne illnesses like fever, fatigue, or unusual behavior in pets and family members.

Let’s stay vigilant and keep both our pets and loved ones safe this fall!
