We need foster homes for the dogs ! We have limited kennel space at the shelter , and there are MANY more dogs awaiting adoption, than there are kennels/ foster homes available to meet that need.
By fostering a shelter dog , YOU increase that dog’s chances of being adopted. Foster families have the time and the ability to transform their foster dog, through one-on-one contact, exercise and training, into a pet any person or family would be proud to call their own. UCHS foster families spend quality time with their foster animal, and provide a loving and caring environment where the animal can develop happily!

We aim for a foster commitment of approximately 1-3months . It helps to iron out basic training and get the dog settled in their environment. UCHS supplies dog food, bowls, leash and a crate.

***Our goal is to have the animals adopted into loving homes. Sam, pictured here, has been at the shelter awaiting adoption since June 2022. He would benefit from being in a foster home ASAP. ***
We ask you to complete a foster application as thoroughly as possible so that we can get to know you and your family better.

FANTASTIC NEWS from the Staff at the Upper Credit Humane Society.
Pearl, Tivi, Trixie, TW and Merida were adopted. These shy cats have been waiting for their forever home for a long time... and we are SO happy for them all.

Hank will be foster to adopt because he has a cut on his paw that is slowly healing and still needs some looking after. He will need to wear a boot on his paw when he goes out side (to prevent it from getting dirty) until it his paw is fully healed.
Now.. let’s talk about this dog’s personality!
Hank is a lovable boy who still doesn't realize he is a very large dog. He is over 100lbs and is still growing. He’s a year and half old Mastiff mix.
Hank is looking for someone/family who has experience with large breed dogs.
He is friendly and loves to play! Hank needs some training but loves working with people and building relationships.
He is curious of other dogs and likes to investigate them. Hank would do best in a home as the only dog.
He has never been with cats…. when a cat corrects him, he does not listen and chases. UCHS staff do not recommend Hank in a home with cats.
This boy looks tough, but he is very sweet!

Marshell is still MISSING - This 11 month old black with some white Cane Corso /American bull terrier male dog was last seen in the and area by the airport in October 31 around 7:30 am.

He’s wearing a red and black collar.

Upper Credit’s long-term lease with the Town of Erin expired at the end of 2021 but the Town graciously extended the lease to October 2023.

The UCHS is an independent humane society, 100% reliant on private donations and grants to operate. As a non-profit organization, it does not have the assets needed to qualify for a mortgage, so will focus on fundraising for the move. UCHS is hopeful that one of its many loyal supporters will come forward with a land or building donation or a long-term lease.

ADOPTED Jan 2023.
Merida came to the shelter from a country property. She showed up at a farm in Erin and no owner was found.
Merida is a quiet girl and is still taking time to get used to people. She would do best in a quiet house and would be ok with children that know how to respect her. We are not sure how she is around dogs, but we do know she would like other cat company.
Please give Merida a chance.
Merida has been awaiting adoption since the Spring 2022.

Frankie is a very friendly out going 2 year old cat looking for a loving forever home. She is very affectionate, bold, loves exploring and playing with new things.
She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Let's welcome Chase!
He is a 9 month old Retriever / PatterdaleTerrier mix.
Chase will be a foster to adopt, as he is not neutered yet . His neuter is booked for November 7th, and pick- up to finalize the adoption would be November 9th.
Here's a little more information about Chase.
He is a on the go, go, go, go, kind of guy! He is ready for pretty much anything. Camping, portage, hiking, jogging, exploring, having adventures- Chase would be up for all of them. He would need someone who has the time to put some training into him. He catches on very fast as he is extremely smart and loves to work with you.
Chase walks on leash beautifully, and will even glance up to check in with you.
Chase is looking for someone/family who is familiar with the terrier breeds/ working breeds- his character is more terrier than Labrador.
Chase will need a fenced in area to run around and play bal. He will need someone who has the time to mentally and physical stimulate him.
In his down time , Chase enjoys cuddles and snuggles, loves belly rubs and a Kong with what ever goodies you decide
to put inside, he enjoys the surprise.

This handsome fellow was was found roaming the streets in Dundalk. Salem is nervous at times but is curious about human interaction.
