Maya and Missy are either sisters or a mother daughter duo. We aren't quite sure they were brought into us as "strays that were going to be shot". We soon realized these were no strays. Very clean and polite kitties that most likely were someone's pets. We posted them as found animal's and no one claimed them. They do seem to be pretty attached to each other so we are adopting them out as a bonded pair.

They are the perfect pair. Missy will follow you around looking to be the center of attention and Maya is more independent and will wait patiently for her turn. They love to spend their time sleeping together in the cat tree.

B***y has a long story and it's a story we have told multiple times on this page. For some reason no applications ever came in for this guy! B***y has a heart of gold and anyone would be lucky to have him be apart of their family. I've never met a dog with such high spirts after being in the shelter for so long. B***y has met and seen over 30 dogs come through and get adopted but he has never had his own chance to go home.

B***y's gentle eyes tell a story of resilience and hope, showcasing a spirit that is eager to be a part of a loving family. He has a playful nature and a heart full of loyalty, B***y promises to be the perfect companion for walks in the park, cozy cuddle sessions on the couch, and endless adventures by your side.

Meet Rayne, a sweet kitty looking for a loving forever home. Despite her initial shyness, Rayne's heart is filled with warmth and affection. She is a bit reserved at first, but afterwards she is the life of the party and expends lots of energy. She adores being in the presence of humans and will follow you around rubbing on your legs trying to get you to play with her.

As a former feral stray, she will probably always be a little apprehensive with new people, but when she drops her guard she adores getting pet and cuddled. She has a sweetness inside, which is evident when you do get to snuggle her.

Pet are priceless.
Now our adoption fees covers all of this for you. Each one of our adult cats comes spayed/neutered, vaccinated and dewormed for an adoption fee of $125
But cost is something that needs to be taken into consideration when deciding if an animal is right for you. While adopting might cost less in the beginning, caring for an animal is a long-term financial decision.

The 3-3-3 rule when adopting an animal is really useful to understand the phases a rescue animals will go through.

The first 3 days will always be a bit overwhelming for a new animal, they might want to hide or just seem uncomfortable. Don't worry it gets better!

After 3 weeks your animal will be settling and getting comfortable

After 3 months your animal will understand the routine and will feel at home.

Remember the 3-3-3 rule is always just a guideline. Your new pet also go at it's own pace.

Have you always wanted to help out but don't know where to start?

Here are 8 ways you can help your local rescue without adopting.

1-Share on social media
Social media provides us with the ability to reach thousands of people around the world. It's a great way to spread the word about events and all of our adoptable animals. Majority of our animals get adopted by being seen on social media.

2- Monetary Donations
If you are in a position to donate you can help by donating directly to the rescue. A few dollars will help feed, care and give vet work to animal in need.

3-Donate Supplies
Rescues can use pretty much anything. You can help out by donating anything from cleaning supplies, old towels to open bags of dog and cat food.

4- Host a Fundraiser/ support a fundraiser
Do you do well at event planning? Help your local rescue out by planning an event.
Being a non profit organization all of our funds come from fundraising.

5-Support that companies that give back
There is so many great local companies that support rescues. So spread the love and let them know they are appreciated and that their kindness doesn't go unnoticed.

6-Sponsor a cat kennel
ROAR society has a program where you are able to sponsor a cat kennel for $20 a month which helps provide for the cat in the kennel. You then receive monthly updates on the cat.

7-Volunteer
Animal rescues are almost all run by dedicated volunteers. Fill out a volunteer form and you can help out! Cuddling cats to walking dogs or helping with fundraiser are all things volunteers can do.

8- Foster
Rescues can only take in animals as they have room. Opening you home up to an animal in need helps open a spot in the shelter, where another animal can be helped.

We are not sure when animals happened to become so disposable. But we are seeing it more and more everyday. Harry is an example of a discarded pet. This sweet boy was seen being pushed out of a car down a gravel road with the car speeding off. We posted him as a lost cat in hopes that it was a mistake but of course no one came forward.

Abandoning an animal can be prosecuted under the Animal Protection Act and Criminal Code of Canada, with fines of $5000-$20,000, bans on owning animals and the possibility of jail time. It is also a chargeable offence to not provide adequate conditions to an animal. Whether it be leaving an animal outside without food or water, shelter, protection from injury, and extreme temperatures. Animal cruelty is serious and we are seeing it more and more. There is so many animals in need of help. Majority of these animals are in need because of human actions. We might be on an intake freeze at the moment but we want to do our best in helping educate on pet ownership.

Harry didn't deserve to be discarded out in the middle of no where, and we are so glad we were able to help him. But there is many more out there that need help, and we can only help as we get cats adopted. We did have to shave him as he was covered in mats but it is growing out beautifully.

One of our biggest dreams is coming true! The construction of our NEW Quarantine building has started today!! Now with that, we have realized some things around the shelter are going to have to change temporarily. Due to the renovations and how busy we are, our office will be appointment only. There will be people here daily but our office will be closed to walk-ins. If you would like to stop in, message our page or email to make sure someone is available. If you have a donation, there is a donation bin outside the shelter that is available 24/7.

As much as we hate to do it, we are officially on an intake freeze. The amount of animals that have been dropped off in the last week has pushed us way past our capacity. We are so thankful for the people who are adopting, donating and fostering for us, but unfortunately, we are out of room to put animals. Once our new building is done, we will be able to house more, but as of right now, we are full and trying to navigate everything as we move into the renos.

But with this sad news, our hearts are also overjoyed that we are finally making this building dream a reality. We have been planning and fundraising for over 3 years and we want to thank everyone who has made this dream a reality. From every donation, foster family, volunteer, and most of all community support, you all have helped us to get this accomplished. Continue to watch Facebook with updates!

As we go into the weekend we know our building is safe because Triple Moon Security Services are on the lookout! We never thought we would have to have our donation bin monitored but in the last 2 years we have had people do everything from steal items, to even leave animals in the bin.
