It’s calving season at the clinic now which is the busiest time of the year for the next several months. Here is a lovely guide to know when to call us during an emergency.

A few friendly reminders for producers and clients :

When the temperatures dip low , and you do not have a heated/sheltered and /or safe handling facility for our veterinarian to perform a C-section or a calving - we will ask you to haul into the clinic. It is very physically demanding (and super cold on the fingers!) for our vets- and we want to make sure they stay safe to continue to help all season!
In clinic calvings can also be quicker due to having extra hands in office.
So make sure your truck and trailers are hooked up and plugged in!

Often our amazing veterinarians are dealing with multiple emergencies at once. We appreciate your patience as we triage emergencies and try to help everyone in a timely manner. Sometimes this means you may get a phone call to delay or reschedule your appointment.

When at all possible, please give our team a minimum of 24 hours notice prior to prescription refills and vaccine and supply orders. We love to ensure the things you need are ordered in stock- and organized for a prompt pickup.

We understand stress is at an all time high during emergency season but we ask for kindness towards our staff. 🩷

Just because its been cold at night -doesn’t mean these little buggers haven’t kicked the bucket ! This little monster was found on a horse in the area along with his friends! (About the size of a poppyseed ) But don’t worry- we have products to treat your livestock (dogs and cats too!) for ticks and other parasites ! Oh and if you find a tick- place it in a baggie or container and bring them to the clinic! We will submit them to the tick surveillance program (no charge for you). This will help bring more awareness about ticks in Alberta. 🕷

We had the most adorable piggy 🐷 in for his neuter today !!! He loves scratches and was just the sweetest ! 💜💜💜

Severus is our other adoptable ROAR kitty waiting for his fur ever home ! Here Jana is teaching him how to have his teeth brushed for the first time! He was quite relaxed laying on his back - and was a very good boy for the first time ! He also gets along with other kitties, amazing for toe nail trims and loves to play! Stop by the clinic to swoop him up for his new home!

The other day we had 8 beautiful puppies in for their first set of vaccinations!! We got to have a few minutes of fun with this ball of adorable energy! 💜💜💜💜💜😆😆😆😆

Who else’s pets are having some summer time fun finally? Message us a photo of your pet and it may become our new profile pic for a spell!

🛑 Tick alert ! This feisty little guy was brought into us today and the dog had never left rocky !! You can see the pen in comparison to the tick size ! Never too late to pick up your tick prevention for your dogs or cats. And did you know some of the products also protect from fleas and mosquitos ?? 🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷

Did you know that our clinic kitty Buster isn’t a statue of sleepiness all the time ? He is super smart and now has learned to sit and high five ! ..... Did we also mention he is VERY food motivated? 🤣🍔🥩🥓🍕

Some days the Clearwater Vet Staff use a little humor to get through winter # 281 for the year !

We would love to share the home video of one of ROAR's kitten adoptions, "One Eye Jack". Jack loves to watch FishTV at home, and really enjoys when the red shrimp comes out of the cave.
