It is time to hang the stockings for our herd! If you're looking for a way to show your favorite herd member (or misfit) some love, we've got some ideas for you from $0 and up. No gift is too small to be appreciated, we deeply treasure everything that is received (did you know we still have all the drawings we've ever been given? That's 10 years of art!) Here's what's on their wishlist this year...

- Letters/art - this makes us so happy reading about or seeing the impact a special horse has made in someone's life! Cost, $0, value - PRICELESS 💙💙
- Snacks - peppermints, candy canes, horse cookies from the store... they love their treats! Gift them snacks or send $5 for them to spend on a few cookies!
- Straw bales/Shavings - the misfit pen and the rescue pen behind the barn gets the most wonderful straw or shavings bedding to stay warm in the cold snaps! Gift them a fresh bed for $10
- Square hay bales - when horses are sick or injured and need to be on small pen rest, we feed them high quality square bales to help them feel their best! Gift them a day of snackin' for $15
- Feed - we often get asked how many feed bags we go through in a month... the answer is, a lot! $25 will buy your favorite horse a bag of their Hoffman's or Step Feeds grain!
- Pedicures - every horse gets their hooves trimmed on a 6-8 week rotation. Gift them their next pedicure for $60
- Massages - during our wellness sessions the horses take on all of the emotional and physical tension their human is feeling and hold it in their muscles. We treat our horses to body work as often as possible to ensure they are always feeling their best. Gift them their next massage for $100
- Hay Bales - it goes without saying that these guys eat a LOT. We put out two large round bales every 2-3 days for the herd. Gift them a good buffet for $150
- Dental Work - did you know horses need to have their teeth filed yearly to stay healthy? Cover part of a dentist visit for $200

Hope everyone is staying cozy as a pile of barn cats out there! This week is a brisk one, but we have still been enjoying our outdoor programs and playing in the snow!

Tomorrow, we will be saying goodbye to one of our founding herd members. Tango has been a cornerstone of our programs since the very beginning, and is Jade's personal heart horse. Losing her at only 13 years old to a sudden onset of severe ringbone is devastating, and we know that she will be so deeply missed by many. If you have a favorite photo or story about Miss Tango, please share it with us to honor the difference she made in this world! 💜
