Tomorrow, we will be saying goodbye to one of our founding herd members. Tango has been a cornerstone of our programs since the very beginning, and is Jade's personal heart horse. Losing her at only 13 years old to a sudden onset of severe ringbone is devastating, and we know that she will be so deeply missed by many. If you have a favorite photo or story about Miss Tango, please share it with us to honor the difference she made in this world! 💜

We hope everyone is having a beautiful long weekend surrounded by family!

Posts with info on upcoming events will be coming this week. It has been a hard couple of weeks around here with the loss of our big horse Todd, and the loss of a long-time prominent herd member Tango looming in the near future. We appreciate your patience as we work through this grief.

Autumn is often when we say goodbye to the horses who need to pass on, to avoid their discomfort in the colder weather. I have had messages asking how people can help us right now: if you would like to financially support the care of our herd during this season of loss, please feel free to reach out to us or contact Moore Equine for our direct vet account. We also always love hearing your fond memories with the horses we are saying goodbye to, and we warmly welcome all comments/letters/messages, photos, and tributes 💜

For a donation of your choice, you’ll get the chance to adopt your very own rock buddy - an authentic "Lasting Strides Rock" from our pasture! You’ll paint it, name it, and give it the loving home it deserves. And because every pet needs a proper introduction, you’ll receive a laminated adoption certificate—perfect for showing off to all your friends!

Whether you’re an experienced rock painter or just looking to unleash your inner Picasso, this event promises loads of fun. Plus, you’ll be helping our programs thrive and support our furry residents (the ones that actually need hay, not just a splash of paint). As an added bonus, we will provide treats for you to feed to our pig, cow, goats, chickens, ducks, kittens, donkey, and horses - without the commitment of having to take any of those home in the back seat!
