Introducing our latest team member, Morgan Armstrong! ✨️
If you're thinking she looks familiar, it's because she did a practicum with us when she was a vet tech student! We are so happy to have her here as a full time RVT.

Morgan is originally from Prince George, BC, and she now lives on a farm in the Duperow area. She graduated from Vermilion College in 2023 and worked at Battlefords Animal Hospital for just over a year.

Morgan loves opportunities to help animals have healthy and happy lives with their humans. We are so lucky that she is back to join our team full time. Welcome to the crew, Morgan!

Happy long weekend! We are here in case of emergency, otherwise we will see you on Tuesday!

New VET Alert! 🚨
Dr. Emma Hinz is an extremely kind and knowledgeable lady, with passion and experience for equine medicine and performance! 🐎
Welcome, Emma!
See below for more details. ✨️

Hi everyone!  Some of you may know me already, but I am back now, and with a new title, Dr. Emma Hinz!  For those of you who don’t know me, please let me introduce myself.  I grew up on a grain farm near Muenster, SK, and am the youngest of 4 daughters.  I knew from the time I was tiny that I wanted to be “a vet, or a veterinarian” according to my older sisters. I recently achieved that goal when I graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in June, 2024. When I’m not in the clinic, you bet you can find me out riding or working with my horses, spending time with family and friends, or helping out on the farm.
I am thrilled to be back at Eagle Creek and to get to work helping animals and the people who love them.  I love all animals but have a special interest in all aspects of equine medicine and performance and have worked in various equine specialty clinics around Canada.  Thank you for having me and I look forward to working with you in the future!

Eagle Creek Veterinary Services is looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our dedicated team!

We are a privately owned, full service, 2-3 DVM practice with 2 full time RVTs. Come join our dynamic team in our brand-new facility with modern equipment. Serving west central Saskatchewan, we are in Rosetown, SK, 120km southwest of Saskatoon. Our case load is approximately 40% large animal and 60% small animal. Our RVTs rotate through all areas of the clinic to cover both large and small animal cases in clinic and on farm. The clinic hours of operation are Monday to Friday; we are closed evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.

Full-time staff benefits include health benefits, continuing education opportunities, uniform allowances, staff discounts, and paid membership dues. The new clinic design includes a low stress large animal system, isolation ward, separate dog and cat kennel rooms, and staff showers.

One of the best things about working at Eagle Creek Veterinary Services is our amazing team of technologists, veterinarians, and support staff!

It's our last week with Sarah Ibach!
Sarah is a vet tech student finishing up her final year of schooling. She has an animal bioscience degree from the U of S and will be graduating from Sask Polytech shortly.

Sarah has always wanted to work with animals. She enjoys helping pet owners get their pets back to their healthy selves and helping producers with livestock.
Sarah has been learning about surgery prep, bovine c-section blocking, how to safely handle livestock in distress, and how to monitor anesthesia.

We have really enjoyed having Sarah with us. She has an eagerness to learn and try new things. Thank you for choosing us for your rotation, Sarah!

Colostrum is needed in calves after birth for their immunity. Colostrum is essential to prevent disease and death in newborn calves. The best source of colostrum is from within your own herd; although commercially available products are available. Some circumstances where esophageal or "tube" feeding may be beneficial include: twins, weak calves, complicated births, or inability to obtain directly from a cow.

For more information and videos on how and when to tube feed, see the resources here: https://www.beefresearch.ca/topics/calving-calf-management/
