⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Christmas Special! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There will be an increase in prices for 2025. Packages will go up by $3 a swim and single swims will increase by $5.
The good news is you can save some money if you renew your swim packages before Christmas. Anyone who buys a new package or pays to renew a package before Christmas will pay current rates!

Today was a fun day. 8 puppies came for an adventure to test out their feelings about water and tiny swims. I fell in love with the green collar boy, I can't have another dog right now, but you can! We can talk about discounted swims. Most of these puppies will go on to be service dogs. Thank you to Woofability for trusting me with your babes.

🔺No swimming at Thetis Lake; blue-green algae bloom alert expanded after warnings issued for Beaver and Elk lakes🔺

The CRD is advising visitors to Thetis Lake Regional Park to avoid contact with the lake water due to a blue-green algae bloom, which is harmful to people and can be toxic to pets. The alert has been expanded to include Thetis Lake, following a recent alert issued for Elk Lake that expanded from an alert at adjacent Beaver Lake. More from the CRD:

The Capital Regional District (CRD), in consultation with Island Health, has expanded the advisory for both Beaver Lake and Elk Lake, located in Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park to include Thetis Lake located in Thetis Lake Regional Park.

Blue-green algae can produce cyanotoxins. Visitors are advised to avoid contact with blue green algae and to keep animals on a leash to prevent them from drinking or swimming in the lake until the advisory has been lifted.

The algae usually produce a visible blue-green sheen, which appears as surface scum on the water. Not all blooms are easy to see, and toxins can still be present in the water even if you cannot see a bloom. Blooms are unpredictable and may occur at any time.

These algae are known toxin producers. Ingesting water containing these cyanotoxins may cause a range of symptoms, including headaches and abdominal pain in humans, and can lead to lethal liver damage in dogs.

Pickles and his serious friend are all about his judgemental ears about my lack of communication in the last month. I’ve been terrible with responding and insanely busy! Good news is I have daytime spots opening up in May. I have sent out emails to everyone who reached out. If I missed you, give me a nudge. If you have called me, please reach out with an email or text. I have no cell reception at the pool for phone calls and my weekends are monopolized by dogs, their classes and chores so I am unlikely to ever make a phone call as my voicemail says. Looking forward to swimming your dogs! New clients welcome!!

Update! The pool has heat and the shovelling is done ❤️

Well this has to be the best visual representation of my last week. Off to the pool soon to shovel more and make sure the propane truck arrives so we can open back up tomorrow and have a warm pool! Fingers crossed all will be back and running for tomorrow. Who's ready for spring??

We are closed again today. Cars are sliding down Laurel rd and can’t make it up the hill! Stay safe!
