How to Keep Your Pomsky’s Coat Healthy During Winter

Winter is here, and it’s the perfect season for Pomskies to thrive in their natural element! However, cold weather can still pose challenges for their coat and skin. Here are some tips to keep your Pomsky’s coat healthy this winter:

1. Regular Brushing:
Pomskies have a double coat that helps regulate their body temperature. Brush them 2-3 times a week to remove loose fur, prevent mats, and distribute natural oils to keep their coat shiny and healthy.

2. Protect Against Dry Skin:
Winter air can be very dry, which might cause skin irritation. Use a humidifier in your home to add moisture to the air and ensure your Pomsky has access to fresh water at all times.

3. Bathing with Care:
Limit baths during winter to avoid stripping their coat of natural oils. When you do bathe them, use a gentle, moisturizing dog shampoo and dry them thoroughly to prevent chills.

4. Keep Them Active:
Daily exercise helps maintain a healthy coat by promoting good circulation. Bundle them up with a cozy dog jacket if it’s too cold outside for long walks.

5. Use Paw Protection:
Snow and ice can cause paw irritation. Trim the hair between their paw pads to prevent snow build-up, and consider using paw balm or booties for added protection.

6. Nutrition is Key:
A high-quality diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids promotes a healthy coat and reduces shedding. Talk to your vet about adding supplements if needed.

7. Avoid Overheating Indoors:
Pomskies are built for colder weather, so don’t overheat your home. Too much heat can dry out their coat and skin.

Our sweet Athena, the last of our F3 Mythology litter, has officially started her journey to her forever home! After being picked up by her new mom, she’ll be flying to the beautiful Yukon, where endless adventures await. From snowy landscapes to cozy nights under the northern lights, Athena is about to live her best life in one of the most stunning places on Earth.

We’re so thrilled to see her off on this exciting chapter and can’t wait to hear about all the memories she’ll make with her new family. Athena, you’ll always hold a special place in our hearts, and we know you’ll absolutely thrive in the Yukon!

After a whirlwind of delays and two canceled flights on Thursday and Friday, Hera finally made her way to the airport early this morning in the middle of a blizzard. After an 8:30 AM drop-off for her 11:30 flight to Abbotsford, she is now safely reunited with her loving family in BC!

It’s been a journey, but seeing Hera with her forever family makes it all worth it. Safe travels, sweet girl—you’ll be so loved in your new home! ❤️

Our First Puppy Has Found His Home!

We are so excited to share that Loki, the last pick of our September 24th litter, is officially the first to go home! This gorgeous male F3 Pomsky has made his way to his new family near Red Deer, Alberta.

Loki enjoyed a 2.5-hour road trip during one of Alberta's first snowy days of the season. It warms our hearts, knowing he’s already settling into his forever home, bringing love and joy to his new family.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this litter and been part of their journey. We’re so grateful to see our pups thrive in their new adventures!
