**As a courtesy post Zoe's has not met "Ronnie", we facilitate the adoption behind the scenes to ensure a safe rehoming. We make sure the animals are vetted but do not personally know the animal. It is the adopter's responsibility to do their due diligence - ask for vet records, get the microchip changed, potentially involve a force free trainer for an assessment and/or ask for a trial period.**
Hi, my name is Ronnie, and Iโm a male Standard Poodle. At the start of my life, I wasnโt given consistent attention or training, and I was viewed as an outside dog.
When my current family discovered me in August this year, my hair was very overgrown and matted, and my nails were very long. It was apparent I had never been groomed. Luckily, thanks to the support and love of my current family, I am excellent at the groomers, and I love to be brushed and have my nails clipped. I am quite happy being pampered! My family makes sure to clean my paws when I come inside from potty breaks, and I wait patiently during that.
My current mom is always giving me hugs, kisses, and carrying me, so I have learned that love and cuddles can and will come to my level instead of jumping up to give kisses. Iโm also learning what stuffed animal toys are, but havenโt figured out how to make them squeak.
I do best with routine, endless cuddles, and affection (who doesnโt). I love walks and do best with a Halti style leash as when I was tied up, my collar was sooo tight that pulling on the chain was the only thing I knew to do to get closer. I tend to pull if I just have my new collar on for a walk. Iโm getting better at playing fetch and know basic commands, sit, stay (sometimes) and shake a paw.
I don't mind my kennel and know the words "bedtime" (that's when I head for my blanket on the couch) so I do need to be gently guided in and once there I sleep all night.
