Welcome to PALZ the Leash-free Dog Park Group for the City of St. We are a non-profit group relying on donations to continue creating and improving our community leash-free parks. Co-Chairs Wendy Harrison and Suzanne Mason would like to welcome everyone here to our community page. Our group affectionately known as PALZ stands for People Advocating a Leash-free Zone. Enjoy this page. A place where
we can gather together and continue to create new dog parks in the city and find better ways to manage the ones we have. Share your pictures, videos, news and concerns. We can have fun and make a difference. Currently there are 2 leash-free parks one at 70 Edgedale in Burgoyne Woods Park and the second one is on the corner of George and Dufferin with a small parking lot on Catherine Street. Burgoyne Woods has 4 acres of fenced property and a separate 1 acre ‘small’ dog park for thelittle ones under 17”. Carol Disher park is 1 acre and is used by all size dogs. A new proposed beach front park is in the works, plus hopefully by 2017 we have another park located in the northend. Donations from park users or those wanting to advertise on this page are welcome. The money goes to the City of St. Catharines and is recorded in the PALZ ledger. The funds can be drawn on to pay for fences, shelters, etc. Your Dog Park Reps:

If you experience any problems at the park with aggressive dogs and owners then you should call the Humane Society and they will attend to the problem. Keep in mind that if they are dealing with more serius matters it could take sometime, but I know they try there best. We all need to pitch in and help educate park users as to proper control of their dogs, picking up dog waste. Let one of the park reps know if someone is totally not respecting the rules.
