The Niagara Canine Conditioning Centre was founded by Barbara Lee, PT, MCPA, Dip. Our goal is to provide physical therapy for dogs and cats recovering from injuries, neurologic conditions and prolonged illnesses as well as those suffering from arthritis/degenerative joint diseases and obesity. We will also create conditioning programs for working and sporting dogs or anyone who wants to keep their pets fit and healthy. The Centre allows dogs to exercise year round, regardless of the weather.

Happy 5-Year Anniversary, Michelle!

We’re thrilled to celebrate Michelle’s 5 amazing years at the Niagara Canine Conditioning Centre! After 16 years as a veterinary technician, Michelle was inspired by her own pets’ experiences at the Centre to further her education, earning her certification in Canine Rehabilitation from the University of Tennessee.

Since joining our team, Michelle has helped countless pets heal, move, and thrive with her compassion and expertise. When she’s not caring for clients’ pets, she’s at home with her Dalmatian, Maze, and her hairless cat, Orbital Socket.

Thank you, Michelle, for your dedication and the joy you bring to our team and clients every day. Here’s to many more years of making a difference!

Celebrated our staff with a delicious meal catered by The Heat Is On Catering - Offsite Weddings & Personal Chef Services prepared in Keri's home. Combined it with a baby shower for Natalia Esteban ...was supposed to be before baby's arrival but sweet Emilia decided to make an early appearance. Congrats to Nat and Rick on your beautiful, healthy baby girl. Welcome to the NCCC family, Emilia. You're one lucky little lady to have so many "aunties" to spoil you!

We got to meet Bepsi this week. This sweet pup was found up north with severe head trauma, likely from an animal attack. It's amazing that he survived but no one was prepared for what the neurologist found on his MRI...he's missing a significant portion of the right side of his brain! This causes him to circle to the right constantly, when he's in motion. His prognosis from the neurologist was not great and his rescuers reached out to us to see if there was anything we could do to help. We were blown away by his spirit and determination. He really is a happy and smart little guy. He completely surprised us when he made his way over to the cavalettis and figured out how to get across them in his own way without any prompting. Of course, we weren't recording him the first time when he did it pretty much perfectly! Bepsi's visit with us was free of charge as we weren't sure there was anything we could do for him (happily, we do have a plan) but you can imagine that he's racked up quite a vet bill. Meet Walter! A determined 6-year-old Dachshund, who came to us in November following spinal decompression surgery. Walter’s treatment plan includes laser therapy and therapeutic exercises to help him rebuild strength and minimize risks to the rest of his spine.

In this video, Walter is walking on an uneven surface, an important part of his rehab. This exercise helps strengthen his muscles, improve proprioception, and retrain his gait—all key steps in his recovery journey.

Let’s cheer Walter on as he works hard toward his goals!

Meet Gunther, a new patient at the Centre! This determined German Wirehaired Pointer is taking on the challenge of a rather tricky plank exercise to improve his core and hip strength.

Gunther came to us with hip dysplasia, and his treatment plan includes laser therapy and therapeutic exercises designed to strengthen his muscles and slow the progression of degenerative joint disease.

We’re already so impressed with Gunther’s dedication and can’t wait to see his progress! Stay tuned for updates on his journey.

Congratulations to Beau, our latest rehab graduate! 🎓

Beau, a 5-year-old black Labrador Retriever, came to us in September with shoulder pain that caused intermittent front limb lameness. Through a combination of laser therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, massage, and stretching, we were able to help manage his pain, reduce inflammation, and support healing.

It’s been a joy to watch Beau’s progress and see him get back to his happy, energetic self. We’re so proud of you, Beau, and wish you many more adventures ahead!

Meet Ginger, Our Final Star Senior! Ginger is a 7-year-old sweetheart and a long-time client at the Centre. She first joined us in May 2018 after being diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia. With determination and support, Ginger graduated from our rehab program the following year, showing incredible progress. Since then, we’ve been by her side as she ages gracefully, providing ongoing care through laser therapy, manual therapy, massage, and a tailored therapeutic exercise program.
