Please be aware that in order for us to build a strong relationship with your dog and make the grooming process a more fun and positive experience, we require each pup to be on a proper grooming schedule that reflects their coat type and individual needs.

Word of mouth has always been our biggest and best advertisement, so anyone who has previously asked if we had availability for their friends or family please spread the word or give us a share 🫶🏻

A bitter sweet time as I start this next chapter of mom life, but super stoked to get back to pampering your fur babes! 🐾 ✨

For those wondering, the next few months might look a little different in terms of how we normally would have things booked. There may be times I’ll need to work the odd afternoon/evening until my little one has childcare in September, but I promise we won’t be skipping a beat with keeping everyone on their usual grooming schedules.

Anyone wishing to book or reschedule appointments, we will still kindly ask that for the month June you continue to call the salon until I’m fully settled back into work. Our July & August schedule will be open for bookings starting next week, so we’ll be in touch with anyone who has inquired and been added to our call list. If you have not previously spoken to Dakota about July/August bookings and would like to book, please give us a call or shoot us a quick message to be added to the list.

Hello friends!

The total solar eclipse is just around the corner, and just about everyone is ready to see the once in a lifetime event. We are seeing some mixed information about pet/wildlife safety.

Contrary to what some may read, the sun itself is not any more dangerous during the eclipse. The reason protective eye wear is recommended for humans (who wish to observe the eclipse) is because many of us will be staring directly at the sun that day, which is something we typically avoid.

For our pets, and outdoor wildlife, that day will be similar to any other day. Our pets don’t stare at the sun, so there is no need to keep them indoors on April 08 for any extended period of time. They may notice the change in temperature, but it is unlikely they will exhibit any unusual behaviour.

The eclipse can be more unsettling for birds. The dimming of the sky can mimic behaviour at dusk and during early storm formation, so some birds may demonstrate a wind-down behaviour and there may be less activity in the sky during the peak eclipse. Once the sky returns to normal, so does their behaviour.
