September has arrived, which means the spookiest and most wonderful time of the year is finally here and we can no longer contain our excitement for this one. The good folks at Clifden Manor have graciously allowed us to take over for the last week of October and turn this luxurious piece of Saint John history from chic to shriek.

Join us for jump scares galore at Dead Man’s Manor: A Haunted House, an all new haunt that’s sure to give even the bravest of souls a good scare. The best part about it all is that 10% of all proceeds will be going directly to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue so join us in having a scream for a great cause. No advanced tickets will be available.

If you don’t already be sure to give us a follow as we will be dropping some more spooktacular events as October draws nearer.

From shy to being confident free spirited kitty! Thanks to her new family for helping her bring out the best version of herself❣️🐈

Adoption Update: ♥️ Du-Gwyn (Ember) ♥️

“ I can't picture Du-Gwyn (formerly Ember) as a shy cat - I keep telling her that she is one of the most confident kitties I've ever served! (I'm hoping that some of her confidence will rub off on my older cat who can be a bit of a scardy cat, but who is doing very well adjusting to having a younger cat in the house.) She even let me trim her claws without protest! Her name, Du-Gwyn, means Black-and-White in Welsh.

Here are some pictures of her living her very best spoiled house cat life (with Nuru, my 6-year-old cat appearing in one of them). Some of her current favourite things include:
- toys (especially "thing-on-a-string" toys and pompoms)
- lap snuggles, complete with purrs and biscuit-making
- cat trees for sleeping and scratching
- watching birds from the windows
- racing at top speed from one end of the house to the other and up and down the stairs

Thank you for socializing her and caring for her until she picked me to take her home. “

We are pleased to introduce Ryan and Sophia, our outstanding students under the SEED program (Student Employment Experience Development), who have shown unwavering dedication and commitment to their work with the animals at Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue. 👏🏻

Their enthusiasm for learning and their willingness to take on new responsibilities are truly impressive. We have no doubt that they will continue to excel in their pursuit of making a positive impact in the lives of animals in need.

Angel’s favourite things are people, squeaky toys and cuddling.

She has separation anxiety and feels more comfortable with people being in her sight. She would need an owner with lots of patience and time to help her manage that and hopefully overcome it.

Maya's ready to set sail for new adventures🦮❣️ 🥰

Adoption Update: ❤️ Lucy (Maya) ❤️

" Lucy's transition is going very well and she is a lovely dog. She and our cat are getting along perfectly and our cat is loving Lucy's pillow (which Lucy seems to have given her!) At first, Lucy chose to spend a lot of her free time in her crate but now she is typically with us, wherever we are in the house. She is in her crate at night and also when we are not home. She is doing much better on the leash, as she is becoming more acquainted with her surroundings. We are on the list to join some basic training classes in September, which will be good for both Lucy, as well as us. A few days ago, we tried taking Lucy in our dinghy and onto our sail boat for an orientation. She did great! It will be a while before she is ready to be on the boat while under sail, but her willingness to learn, explore and adapt is admirable.

If you are interested in any of our animals please complete an application (include landlord consent if applicable), which can be found, on our website and if approved we will contact you for an appointment. The adoption fee for our cats is 200$ which includes: Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Deworming, Minimum 1st needle and Complimentary vet exam (with our partner vets)
