When you teach them not too push/rush through open door/gates 🙈🥰. My barn helpers took the others out and left the gate open. Skyla is such a good girl. Almost 3 yrs old.

Today was a very special day. One we have been waiting and preparing for for years.

We picked a mare. We selected a stallion. We went through a few failed insemination attempts. Finally, at the third attempt (our last try) we had that black spot on the ultrasound that we had been hoping for.

Skyla was born in the spring of 2020. A healthy, spunky and beautiful filly. At the end of September 2022, we sent her to be started at F***y Dessureault’s. Today we made time to visit and see her progress. I was so pleased and excited to see the horse she is becoming. I am so impressed with her progress in just about a month of training.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, it takes a village to save a c**t. Tim (name pending approval 😜) his mom’s first baby. She didn’t quite understand what to do with him or who he was. We had to milk mom and bottle feed him. Simon and Michael did an awesome job showing Tim how to drink from mom.

Thank you to our dear neighbors Stéphanie for answering my call for a baby bottle early on a Saturday morning. Thanks to Talitha for helping Michael while we were at Sara’s dance showcase. Thanks to France for noticing that the other babies had gotten loose 🤦🏽‍♀️ and helping to bring them in.

Thanks to my husband Simon and our oldest son Michael for spending the day and part of the night at the barn to supervise.
