Look at this!!!! Naming Contest for the St. Stephen Dog Park!!
St Stephen Dog Park
As work continues on St. Stephen’s dog park, the Municipal District of St. Stephen announced the launch of a naming contest. Starting today and running through July 28th participants are invited to submit names for the park that are creative and memorable.
“We, and so many dog lovers in St. Stephen and Charlotte County, have been dreaming about this park for years,” says Kev Sumner, Director of Community Services, Municipal District of St. Stephen. “Now the fencing is being installed and construction is underway, we are focused on finding a name that captures what the park provides and why it is so special. We encourage everyone to enter the naming contest.”
The 750 linear foot enclosed dog park is within a 60-acre wooded nature area located in Elm St Nature Reserve. Convenient parking is available at the entrance. The park, which cost approximately $50,000 to construct, is the only off-leash park in the Municipal District of St. Stephen, and is the culmination of hours of planning by a group of dedicated volunteers. For the past 18 months, St. Stephen Dog Club and the Municipal District of St. Stephen have been working together to raise funds required to build the park. Their fundraising efforts received a welcome boost when Pet Valu donated $20,000.
“We are committed to creating memorable moments for devoted pet lovers and pets every day, not only through our retail channels but also in the communities in which we service,” says Gaylyn Craig, SVP, Corporate Store Operations at Pet Valu. “The new dog park in St. Stephen will provide a safe, happy place for dogs to run and play and a welcoming environment for dog lovers to socialize. We are delighted to help make the park a reality and we look forward to the many memorable moments that will be shared there.”
