Sugar and Spice

The vet called today and said Sugar can go home. We are looking for a Foster or Foster to Adopt home for her and because she was so sick it would have to be a home with no other dogs.

She is eating and even wanted to play today. A safe fenced backyard is a must and Remember she is 3 -4 months old and will be quite active.

Meet Precious❤️

She came to us as a wee kitten with an extra long back leg. Precious went into a foster home and is now ready for her surgery.

Her surgery (amputation)is being done today and she will need quite a bit of time to heal. Precious's foster mom has fallen in love with her and will be completing the adoption process once Precious heals.

S.A.L.T. has had its fair share of emergency surgeries in the past few weeks but will always be there to help as much as we can.

We continue to need your help even more each and everyday. We are dealing with the realities of animal abandonment, animal cruelty and animal abuse.

For those of you that have already donated we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We could not help these precious souls without it your support.

UPDATE January 31/25
She ate on her own today! She is still weak and is being monitored and treated. She has had severe diarrhea and will definitely need a bath when well.

This beautiful baby will need continued hospitalization and once well enough she will need a foster home. Thank you to everyone that has donated to our goal of $3000. We have raised $750. so far and will need $2200. more to pay our bill.

URGENT!!!!

Meet Sugar and Spice a 3 month old Standard PoodleX

She was rushed to her vets out of town and then the phone call came in to
SALT Rescue. The voice on the other line was very emotional stating that their puppy was dying and they couldn't afford the vet care that was needed.
Asking Could we take her to save her life?

My initial thought was no BUT why do animals have to suffer because affordable vet care is not available to the public. I said yes and am depending on the generosity of our supporters to help her live a long life. I said we would take her and so the process starts.

Our quote for her care is....just under $3000.

We are praying that she has the strength to fight and she will be monitored to ensure she gets everything she needs.

Corporations that have bought out vet clinics and do not want rescues to get the discounts they deserve to help these precious souls should be ashamed of themselves. We were quoted $9000. for an emergency surgery for another dog that would have died without it.

The only thing that stands between helping these pets get the treatment they deserve and need is raising the funds to afford this much needed treatment! Sugar and Spice has at least 15 years of life ahead of her. Let's help her get started...

UPDATE January 13
Mom and babes are doing. The black one needs extra supplementing as he is not latching on like the others. Fingers crossed all goes well. They are in good hands and being closely monitored.

UPDATE January 11 2025
Mom has started to nurse babies but they are still being supplemented. She has taken them under a bed and is so far caring for them as a normal momma would. The kittens are still a little weak and have a long way to go but with the continued monitoring and care the foster mom is giving they will hopefully thrive.
Please pray for these wee ones and Strawberry as they are very fragile right now. Thank you for your continued support! Your support allows us to give emergency veterinary care as it is needed. ❤️❤️❤️

Prayers for Strawberry and her babies

An URGENT call came in today for 1 of the 46 BENGALS we rescued.
Strawberry went into labour and was in distress.

The foster mom rushed her to the vets where an emergency c-section was performed.

One of the kittens was turned and blocking the passage way. Unfortunately this kitten was deceased. 4 teeny tiny babies were delivered but we are not sure if they will make it.

As you can see our vet bill is almost $2500. We are, to say the least, unable to pay any other bills meaning we are broke.

Please if you can spare anything to help with this bill we would appreciate it. We are so thankful for the continued support we have received from everyone. ❤️❤️❤️
