👻📸 Last year, before we dove into the world of social media, we took a leap of faith and tried out the viral ghost photoshoot! The results? A little silly, but oh-so-much fun! Now that we have a whole year of social media under our belts, we’re thinking... should we give it another shot this year? What do you think? Let us know in the comments!

🎇 🐶During the festive fireworks weekends, our Animal Control team experiences a surge in activity after hours. While the debate about the impacts of fireworks continues, in the City of St. Thomas, we permit fireworks on Victoria Day, Canada Day, and the day before and the day after these holidays. On these six evenings, we urge all dog owners to exercise extra caution and vigilance. Ensure your canine companions are safely indoors with closed windows. Take a moment to secure your yard gates properly to prevent any escapes. If you need to walk your dog during this period, check that their collars are secure and consider using two leashes for added safety. For dogs prone to anxiety, options like thunder shirts, vet-prescribed anxiety medication, or simply playing soothing music at home can offer relief. Let's come together as a community to ensure the well-being of all our furry friends during what can be a stressful time for them.

🌟🦨Exciting news! Our dedicated Animal Services staff have recently completed their skunk handling training, gearing up to offer skunk removal services—but with a twist! We'll only step in if these skunks are unwell or injured. Our aim is to promote awareness and harmonious coexistence with healthy wildlife. Catching skunks without the dreaded spray requires patience and practice, so we kindly ask for your understanding and patience as we hone this skill.
If you spot a sick raccoon or skunk within City Limits, please reach out to customer services at City Hall on 519-631-1680. Together, let's care for our wildlife community!
