Protecting our Pets from Bird Flu.

The risk is very minimal but it does exist. Your pet stands a higher risk of catching rabies.

Keep cats indoors or in a safe contained area in yard. Catio's are great for this. Keep dogs from trying to eat any dead birds or other things they might find on walks or in yard . This can be picked up in areas waterfowl frequent like Riverside's ponds etc
It can be transmitted from the bird droppings.

All our meats come from federal and provincial plants that only slaughter animals for human consumption.

If your concerned heating all meats and eggs food to 165 f. will kill h5n1

Canada food inspection agency's has protocols in place to help prevent this from getting into the human food chain

The history of bird flu:
1959: The H5N1 virus was first detected in Scotland after infecting two chicken flocks.
1996: The H5N1 virus was first identified in geese in China.
2020: A new variant of H5N1, called Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), was detected in wild birds in Europe.
2021: HPAI was first detected in birds in the U.S. and Canada.
2022: The first human case of HPAI H5N1 in the U.S. was reported in April, though it may have been due to contamination rather than infection.
Bird flu, also known as avian influenza, is an infectious disease that primarily affects birds, but can rarely affect humans. Most strains of bird flu don't infect humans, but H5N1, H7N9, H5N6, and H5N8 have been of concern in recent years

Our Story

I have raised German Shepherds for 30 years. Healthy companion pets is a passion. I was amazed at the difference in the health of our pups after switching to a raw diet, I formulated 15 years ago. Since then I have seen a even bigger improvement in the health and bones of each generation of pups fed a raw diet. I would never go back to a processed dry food for them ever. I have since studied Raw Diets and take many courses on natural pet nutrition and herbalism. RFP for me is not just a business it is who I am. We don't just sell raw diets we offer support and education. My staff are dedicated and caring if there is a question they can not answer I am always available to help.
