We had to purchase an oxygenator machine for the shelter for a discounted cost of $880.69.

Every week, we order 12 bags of non-medicated layer crumble chicken feed from Country Mills (Norwich) that we use as low cost cat litter, approx. $1000/month.

Over the last while, we have been sharing and donating our last resources, equipment and leftover items from the Pets/Friends for Life shelter. While it was a difficult decision to have to close our shelter, we have done our best to “pay it forward” to other worthy shelters and rescues in our region. Great news! SALT Rescue will be opening a new adoption centre at 353 Talbot St. in St. Thomas. We are thrilled that this wonderful rescue will be taking over our adoption centre. Please help support SALT Saving Animals’ Lives Together in their work! Their first adoption event will be Monday September 2, 2024 from 11-3 😺

PFFL has seven kitties remaining in our shelter. Fancy, Layla, Jenny, Sadie, Nate, Ruffles and Gavin all deserve a chance to have a home of their own. Gavin is a well managed diabetic boy. He’s super sweet but may need to be the only kitty in a home. Fancy, Layla, Jenny, Sadie, Nate and Ruffles need some more time to get used to more people. Pets/Friends for Life has had a busy month! We have found homes for over 30 cats who had been patiently waiting for their own families. We thank our adopters who opened their homes and hearts to add to their families with a feline in need.
Currently, we have five cats remaining in the shelter. Sadie, Jenny, Fancy, Layla and Nate are all more shy and will need patient and experienced adopters who will bring out their sweet personalities. Message us to come meet our available cats. Our PFFL community has been fantastic these last two weeks! We have had many adoptions and we are incredibly thrilled that so many cats have found their furrever homes.

Currently, Fancy, Layla, Burbank & Whiskers, Gavin, Jenny, Sadie, Tilly and Nate are the only kitties still waiting for adoptions before the shelter closes sometime early this summer.
