Axolotls are such neat little creatures.
Unlike other amphibians, axolotls do not go through a metamorphosis when they reach adulthood, they remain aquatic.

The vinegaroon is such an interesting archanid. These guys are named because of their vinegar-smelling liquid used as a defense. It reminds me of Salt and Vinegar chips...

Just a Crested Gecko hiding out taking a nap.

Did you know this species was thought to be extinct im the wild until 1994 when it was rediscovered. It is also one of the most common gecko pets, second only to the Leopard Gecko.

On this last day of the year, we want to take the time to thank everyone who made us part of their 2024.

House geckos are a small species of gecko growing between 3-6inches (7.5-15cm).
It's always interesting to watch them darting and hiding around their enclosure.

Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house;
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse...
The tortoises were nestled all snug in their beds.

While it's not quite night yet, we thought this picture of Socrates our Russian tortoise snuggled in sleep is so cute it needs to be shared.

A little surprise this morning while doing morning rounds and packing up for parties today. Medusa our Kenyan Sand boa has started giving birth. 4 babies so far, wonder how many little ones she'll have this time.

The first real snow fall means school is canceled, so Lucus is helping put today. First job, dig out the driveway.

If you want to see all kinds of amazing animals doing neat things, like how people got to see this scorpion preening herself at a past event, we've got lots places you can go. Tatiana and Lucus will be at the Portage Potato Fest @plappotato on Saturday Aug 10 from 12-4pm. Curtis will be at the Richer @richerrodeo_ on both Saturday Aug 10 and Sunday Aug 12 from 2p-6p. And lastly London will have a glitter tattoo booth at the Richer Rodeo Friday Aug 9, Saturday August 10 & Sunday Aug 11 from 12-6.
