Welcome to Lauryn Rachel Horsemanship!

Hello Salmon Arm and area! I’m Lauryn Rachel, a passionate horse trainer specializing in c**t starting, and I’m thrilled to bring my expertise and love for horses to the community. I’m now training out of Watson-Wilson Performance Horses, where I’m committed to helping horses build confidence, balance, and willingness to work.

Growing up, I fell in love with horses and started riding at Dallas Valley Ranch Camp, where I eventually joined as a staff member and strengthened my skills and understanding as both a horsewoman and riding instructor. Wanting to learn more, I decided to attend Olds College and graduated with a diploma in Equine Science. In my Western Horsemanship major, I had the privilege of learning horsemanship, coaching, c**t starting and training skills from Shawn Seabrook and Wendy Johnston. Over the course of my time in college I gained hands on experience at a few stables including assisting with riding horses at Barr TT Cowhorse. During college I completed my Equine Canada Western Rider Levels 1-4 and was also a member of the rodeo team.

This past summer, I worked as the horse trainer for Big 9 Outfitters in the Rocky Mountains, where I started young c**ts and refined older horses. In past years, I’ve offered mobile training services, but I’m now grateful to work from a great facility. My approach focuses on developing soft, willing horses through gentle, consistent methods, and my goal is to make each horse happy and well-prepared for any discipline.

⭐️ C**t Starting
My specialty is starting c**ts. With a soft and gentle approach, my goal is to make soft and willing horses who want to come to work every day, providing them with a foundation to excel in any direction. We will work on maintaining all three gaits, stopping and backing, softening of the body and face, and beginning to move the shoulders and hindquarters properly. 60, 90, and 120 day starts available.

⭐️Barrel Patterning
Horses for patterning must have a solid walk/trot/lope, stop and backup, and be able to move their shoulders and hindquarters. We will work on introducing the pattern and using proper body positioning around the barrels.

⭐️Miles/Tune Ups/Conditioning
Let me ride your horse for you over this winter! Programs tailored to your horse, working on fine tuning body control or simply conditioning for the show season.

⭐️Consignment
Consignment programs available for all horses in training. I will handle all advertising and sale efforts.

⭐️Haul In Lessons
Riding instruction available to those with their own horses wanting to haul in to the facility. Years of experience instructing riding lessons and kids riding camps.
$50/lesson

Training horses will be housed in shared paddocks. Access to indoor and outdoor arenas, round pen and an indoor heated barn. $800/month

This past weekend I made the move down and got settled in, nothing short of busy working c**ts at home right up to the day I left!

Looking for a riding instructor near Vermilion to take over 2 students of mine.

One is located north of vermilion, young boy with a pony, needs confidence building and work on foundations of riding.

Other one, closer to mannville the better, looking for a babysitter horse provided for a young girl just starting to learn how to ride.

I am relocating to Salmon Arm and will be working out of Watson-Wilson Performance Horses and have limited spots available for horses over the winter!

Specializing in c**t starting and western disciplines. I am doing a limited introductory rate of $800/month while I build my new clientele in this area. Consignment horses are also welcome. Please PM to book.
