7 weeks old! These cuties are headed on their new adventures in just one more week!

These boys are full of personality these days, showcasing their individual strengths. It's always interesting to see how puppies even within the same litter can vary in temperament! These boys overall seem pretty balanced, and I'm confident these guys will all be matched with families that suits their needs, who will love them with all their hearts πŸ’•

The final week is always busy, full of video calls, communicating with families, putting together puppy packs, vet check visits, and final placement decisions. Their go home day will be here before we know it!

(These pups already all have loving families waiting for them!)

6 weeks old! These dudes have just 2 more weeks until they get to meet their new people πŸ’• they are getting more active and adventurous every day!

We've worked on lots of exposure activities this week, getting outdoors to feel the snow, plank flooring/decking, gravel, and grass under those paws! We've also had noise exposure (I play different things on the TV - fireworks, construction, children playing, etc), and I continue to touch paws, noses, ears, and mouths to get them used to everyday handling.

Something I also work on (which I don't think gets the spotlight enough) is - doing nothing! I work from home at my computer for several hours during the day, and these pups have gotten used to a (semi) normal workday routine.

This week we will start to slowly work on doing individual activities for a few minutes at a time, to help them transition to their new individual homes!

5 weeks old! Time always seems to fly by once pups hit 3+ weeks and start toddling around. I can't believe it's only 3 more weeks until these little boys meet their new families!

The holidays were a great opportunity to get these guys started on socialization. There were new people to meet, and new noises, smells and sights to see! They have become a daytime fixture in the living area of the house and are learning that the sound of the TV, fireplace, washer & dryer, cooking, etc etc are just an everyday thing. This week I plan to start exposing them to the Roomba - I find this a good tool to bridge into the large vacuum, as it makes a similar sound but not as loud, and of course it moves by itself!

In a week or so we will have short play sessions outside on the covered patio on sunny (ie hopefully warmer) afternoons β˜€οΈβ„οΈπŸ¦Š

2024 had many hard moments. When I look back at my life a year ago, it's sometimes hard to even recognize that life as my own. While it's been hard to accept some changes, other changes make my heart so full. I realize there is so much I've accomplished (personally and professionally), and while my healing journey is still far from done, I wanted to name a few things that brought my program forward this year - if for nothing else, to solidify in my own mind how far I've come!

- the corgis and I found a dreamy new property to live on! While our move was not triggered by the best of circumstances, I am so thankful to have been presented with the opportunity to live where I do. The "bones" are here on this land, and we have so much space to expand how we want.
- we introduced not one, but TWO stud prospects into Zora's Corgis this year! While shipping s3m3n from the US will still be something we do to bring new bloodlines in from time to time, I am hopeful we can reduce the massive amounts of stress and many problems that come along with shipping as the only option.
- I have become closer with several other corgi breeders in the US and Canada, who have stepped up when I needed advice, support, and sometimes just some love! I've also been in a position to offer some insight to other upcoming breeders. Breeding dogs can feel lonely much of the time, and building a network of supportive folks who wholeheartedly "just get it" is an essential that I feel is starting to come together.

I'm certain I am missing some things, but even these few things make me hopeful for the future of Zora's Corgis πŸ’•

Happy 2025 everyone πŸŽ‰β˜ƒοΈβœ¨

3 weeks old! The pups are going into their "transition phase" where we start to introduce them to several new things! We always take things slowly and introduce new things in controlled environments, for short periods of time. These include different footing textures, potty pellets, puppy mush (now that teeth are coming in weaning starts!), and spending a few minutes a day in a busier part of the house and increasing the time until they become a fixture in the main living areas. We start socializing them to every day things they will encounter at their new homes, but aim to not overwhelm their developing nervous systems.

I'm fairly sure that Theodore is developing a beautiful fluffy coat! One more week or so should tell us for certain.

Wishing everyone a happy holiday!

Welcoming our newest addition πŸ’•

Eldin is our new prospect male, hailing all the way from Texas! He comes from some lovely Russian bloodlines, and having had the chance to get to know him over the past week, I have high hopes for what he might bring to my program in temperament and conformation. While I plan to do a full Embark panel to find out all I can about his genetics, we already know that (depending on who he is paired with) he can produce both standard and fluffy coats, and red & white/sable or tricolour puppies! Provided he passes his hip & eye testing when he is old enough, I look forward to meeting his future babies 😍🦊✨

Thank you to for entrusting me with this pretty boy!

I'm excited to finally be introducing Luna's three babies! After a bit of a rocky week, all three boys turned two weeks old yesterday. I'm pleased to say that at this stage, they are all looking healthy and I am hopeful things will continue to look up πŸŽ‰

I considered several name themes for these guys (Tiny Tim was a big runner for "Little Dude"), but inspired by the red, blue, and green colour-coded collars the boys came home with from their c-section birth, I decided to go with an adorable Christmas themed trio (suggested by )!

We've been a bit quiet here lately, while we spend time settling into our new home and enjoying the great outdoor space we have, before winter sets in. Rest assured the corgis and I are doing well! They are living a life of luxury with daily off leash walks, playing with horses across the fence, and sleeping on comfortable beds. As you can see from her professional side eye, Etta is so impressed πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

EXCITING NEWS -- WE HAVE MOVED!!! πŸ’•πŸŽ‰β˜€οΈ

Due to some big life changes for me this year, we may have been hard to keep track of location-wise. But I am SO happy to report that the corgis and I have found our dream property in beautiful Pritchard, BC! We are now located permanently 35 min east of Kamloops, on a beautiful 80-acre ranchland plateau with such spectacular, panoramic views that the photos don't have a chance of giving it the justice it deserves. I am thrilled with this piece of paradise and can't wait to develop it into our perfect "corgi ranch".

Thank you to everyone who has given their continued support during this year full of unexpected twists and turns. We've been "making it work" by all meanings of the term, and it means the world to me that I was able to continue this journey. I wouldn't be where I am without you all!

HUGE shoutout to and Chris for helping move all the furniture around this weekend - you guys are the best and hold a piece of my heart, always.

Etta graduated her puppy class last week! πŸ’•πŸ¦Šβ˜€οΈ

Puppy class is such an important tool for all puppies, and their families. I've been told by puppy families that puppy class was a huge turning point for them, as it not only helped them teach basic obedience, but it also gave them valuable skills in understanding their puppy's behaviour, and finding ways to get their puppy to want to work with them. I have always recommended puppy class, and after hearing several success stories, I encourage all new puppy owners to attend!
