A bit about me:

Good with new people
Good with kids
Good with cats
Good with dogs (pending successful introduction)
Active, likes to walk!

Meet Harley! This fun loving low-rider makes people smile wherever he goes. Harley has a happy personality, and has lived successfully with kids, cats and another dog. He enjoys going on adventures and meeting new people. Harley has a bent front leg, it doesn’t seem to slow him down, but he probably couldn’t keep up to jogging or biking.

If you’ve been looking for a dog with the height of a cat and the heart of a lab, then Harley might be the right dog for you!

Please fill out the application linked below if you are interested in learning more about Harley!

Gizmo is a great guy who loves attention but likes a few minutes to get to know you first. He’s lived with other cats before (Goldfish) and could do well with another cat (but he will likely need time to get to know them before he’s completely comfortable)
Gizmo is at the Shuswap Branch and available for cuddles. He’s very sweet and loving and will make a wonderful buddy.

If you think Gizmo is who you’ve been searching for, please submit a pre-adoption application to the Shuswap branch through the link below!

Cherry and Apple are siblings who would like to find a home together. These cutie pies are shy at first but once they feel safe they’re full of love, kisses and head bumps.
They’d thrive in a quieter home where they are the only animals. In their previous home they have been allowed outside in a safe yard, weather permitting, and they would likely appreciate the same freedom in their new home.

If an instant family with these two beautiful souls will make your home complete please submit a pre-adoption application to the Shuswap branch through the link below!

Ginnie is such a people loving dog . She loves to cuddle and snuggle with her friends. However, she does not necessarily feel that way so much with other dogs. Ginnie would thrive in a home where she is the only pet so she can get all the attention from her family. While she is a slender girl, she is also a very strong one so Ginnie needs a equally sturdy owner. An experienced guardian with lots of time to spend with her would fulfill Ginnie’s dreams.

If Ginnie sounds like the right fit for your home, please fill in an application for the Shuswap Branch below!

Meet Fluke & Rudder!

This pair of parrotlets may be tiny, they are the smallest species of parrot, but their care requirements are just as significant as those of larger parrots. These little birds are full of personality and will need a dedicated, experienced home to meet their unique needs.

While not hand-tamed or well-socialized, this pair is curious and eager to explore their surroundings. They are highly intelligent and thrive with plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep them active and engaged.

True to their nature, these parrotlets are masters of melody! They love to sing tunes throughout the day. Despite their small size, they require a spacious and well-equipped enclosure to exercise and express their natural behaviors fully.

If you’re ready to take on the challenge of providing these parrotlets with a loving and stimulating home, please fill out an adoption questionnaire. Additionally, we require detailed photos of the planned enclosure to ensure it meets their needs. We’re committed to finding the right match for this pair so they can thrive in a caring environment.

Tip #1 (and perhaps the most important) when deciding if you can care for a small animal: Small animal does not mean small space! In fact, many small animal enclosures that meet their needs can take up a great deal of space in your home. So, be sure to consider this before diving into pet ownership. Here are a few great enclosures that properly meet the needs of these unique critters

01/30/2025

We’ve recently welcomed a big group of guinea pigs into our care, nine in total!

Seven of them came from the same home after an accidental litter, and despite their best efforts, the family was left overwhelmed and unable to provide proper housing and care.

Two guinea pigs arrived through an animal protection case, where they were sadly neglected.

These little ones are all quite shy and will need time, patience, and socialization to help them feel safe and comfortable. This serves as a great reminder that small animals like guinea pigs, rabbits, and hamsters have specific care needs that are often overlooked or underestimated.

Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing important dos and don’ts for small pet care, so stay tuned! But for now, take a moment to admire these adorable little cuties.
