Ravenwood Acres Ravenwood Acres is a family run small-hold farm growing livestock to produce nutrient dense food for ourselves and our community.

We sell pork, beef, lamb, chicken, and turkey. Visit our HOMEGROWN Farm Stand to purchase, or DM. At Ravenwood Acres, we believe in diversity and the importance of preservation of heritage breeds. We chose to raise Tamworth pigs and Dexter cattle, along with various breeds of heritage poultry and waterfowl because of their excellent qualities in support of sustainable, regenerative principles on t

he small-hold farm. We sell registered breeding stock, weaner pigs, hatching eggs, hatchlings, and youngstock poultry & waterfowl.

Here's something interesting that I bet you didn't know ... I created a national poultry site called A Speckled Hen in 2013 because I couldn't find the chicken breed I was looking for. Since then, many more localized sites have come to be here on Facebook, but there weren't many at all, if any, here in Canada at that time. In addition, I also manage 9 other facebook groups including Salmon Arm Equine Enthusiasts, The Salmon Arm Site, Canadian Dexters!, Canadian Tamworths, Canadian Brahma Breeders, Faverolles Enthusiasts of Canada, Canadian Silkies, Russian Orloff in Canada, and Canadian Muscovy Fanciers. UPDATE: Our sweet little Lily has found her home! Thank you to those who showed interest.

We have a beautiful bottle ewe lamb ready for a new home for a small fee. Lily is a Katahdin/Dorper hair sheep. She had a bit of a rough start but is doing well on her bottle. Born Dec 27. Prefer a farm experienced with bottle lambs and preferably where she will have a friend her size.

Well, after 3 tube feedings, countless attempts with the bottle, a dab or two of molasses, and lots of cuddles and naps under the heat lamp, Charlotte’s lamb has finally shown improvement and has started to suckle. Wren has decided this new baby is hers and is keeping the dastardly Walter at bay, even though all he wants is to cuddle with it. Here’s hoping her trajectory continues upwards.

Brent found 2 new lambs this morning! Singles each for Smiley and for Charlotte. Smiley's ewe lamb is very bouncy but unfortunately Charlotte's wee girl doesn't seem to be getting any milk. I have her warming in the house so I can tube her some colostrum before putting her back out to try again.

We made it through the night. Thankfully Mother Nature cooperated and there was very little wind. The firefighters were on it with helicopters dropping water from the river.

Brent is out in the Farmstand this morning so come on out and say hi! Maybe buy some easy cook sausage or weiners and a jar of mustard to go with! Our Story

Ravenwood Acres is a family run small-hold farm in the beautiful Shuswap area of BC Canada. We are primarily focused on raising the amazing Tamworth hog aka ‘ginger pigs’ for their delicious pasture-raised pork! We also produce breeding stock and often have weaner pigs available periodically throughout the year as well. In addition, we keep a small herd of grass-fed Dexter Cattle, with a focus on producing true dual-purpose animals for milk and beef production. We generally have several calves available each year. Rounding out the livestock, we also maintain a small herd of hair sheep to provide delicious lamb boxes each spring and a few goats for their milk and meat. And of course, no farm is complete with out poultry so we have a selection of beautiful heritage breed chickens, ducks, and turkey to produce table eggs, hatching eggs, exhibition stock, and for their utility! We feel it is important to help maintain and breed heritage livestock and poultry to help ensure the viability of the genetic resources for the long-term. Bringing threatened breeds back into the marketplace is critical in this process. We love encouraging 4-H to get involved in all our breeds as we feel it is important to promote and keep heritage lines going.
