UPDATE: We have been in contact with his owner and they are on their way to pick him up.

Do you recognize this lovely gentleman? He was found wandering around the Wilkie Way area near Charlesworth. He does have a tag with phone number and have a left a message for the owner, but we are hoping to reunite them quickly as we do not have kennels in which to safely house him. If anyone knows this guy and has contact with his owner, please have him contact the branch or check his voicemail/texts for an alternate number.

Do you recognize this very sweet guy? He has been hanging around a home on Wright Rd for the last couple of weeks. He is a neutered male and microchipped, but his microchip is registered to someone who passed away a couple of years ago and we have no contact information for whoever he was rehomed to. If you have any information that can help us reunite him with his family, please reach out to the shelter at 250-37-2123 or [email protected]

Have you met the majestic Raven yet? This 6 year old long haired beauty is currently looking for his furrever family. He is quite affectionate with people and will tolerate some cats but doesn't go out of his way to interact with them if he can help it. Although he loves to be outside as much as in, it is really best if he is kept indoors as he has a flea allergy that could cause issues if he has access to the great outdoors.

if you are interested in meeting him, please fill out an online pre-adoption questionairre at spca.bc.ca/adopt or come down and visit him in person during business hours (M0-Th 11-4)

We are sorry to report a kitty was brought DOA to one of the vet clinics on Friday. The information has been shared with us in hopes of notifying the owner.

The cat is a brown tabby (but appears mostly black with wide striping) with a white chin and muzzle and a white streak from its pink nose to forehead. Kitty appears to be a neutered male.

It was found in the North End on the stretch of road between Fernwood and Epron Road.

No ID, no microchip.

If you think you may know this kitty please reach out.

Have you seen a trail cam similar to this one? The SPCA has been working hard at trying to find a cat that may need medical assistance and this trail cam has been on site assisting in determining not only the condition of the cat but when she comes around so we can attempt to catch her and get her seen by a vet. Unfortunately, someone walked off with the camera last night. This piece of equipment was donated to us by a community member and is an integral part of some of the work we do here on Salt Spring. If you happen to have it, please return it to the BCSPCA Animal Care Centre....no questions asked.

It was last seen behind Country Grocer SSI

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our Doggie Daycare at the Saturday market. We are officially done for the season! This year we were able to help 334 dogs and in turn raised over $6000 to help our local shelter!

Without all our dedicated volunteers, we would not be able to offer this valuable service! We will be doing several volunteer drives starting in January to recruit more volunteers....the more volunteers we have, the more dogs we can help! If you are interested in helping out next season, please contact the shelter.
