On Wednesday, June 11th, east of Exeter, a boxer mix, by the name of “Tucker”, was frightened away by the sound of a gun (s***t shooting) going off.
Tucker ran, and didn’t look back.
Tucker was now in “flight mode”.
Becky Kyle, a friend, tagged me on the post, and reached out to me to ask if I could help.
There were a couple of sightings, and then Tucker circled back.
I was talking to a family member by the name of Sandra McCann, , and instructed her on how to try and lure Tucker back to her, since “Dad” was at work.
As you know, I usually work with Marianne Ducharme for Huron county cases, but she was at work as well.
Sandra had a blanket, a book ( this can always take a while), some good smelly chicken, a squeaky toy, and a line of bbq sauce around her, to make her smell better then a burger on the bbq!
Well, Tucker watched from a distance, he didn’t run away, when the worse possible thing happened!!!
The garbage truck came by, the kind that lifts the big containers, slammed them down, which made the lids come down with a bang, and you guessed it….Tucker “ran for the hills”.
Now, remember, this is the second traumatic episode, on the same farm, and that tells me, I have to act fast, I already had a trap out, but I knew I had to get it off that farm.
I drove back this morning, and walked out with Sandra, I wanted to see the ditch where she lost sight of him when he ran, and noticed there was a “tractor lane” over the ditch…I knew where Tucker went!
With help from Sandra, and “Springer”, a gentleman that lived on the farm, we got my 72 out of the corn field, back in the van, and headed to the farm about a 3rd of a km away, Chris, thank you so very much for allowing my trap and camera.
I always know where I want to set my traps, sometimes you know, sometimes it’s a feeling. Well, sure enough, at 520 tonight, Tucker showed up❤️❤️❤️
He circled the trap, ate the chicken in the grass, the area was heavily scented, and then left, but... not long afterwards, my phone started to ping again...Tucker wanted that chicken!
Let’s all welcome home “Tucker”, after 4 days, he is safe and secured!!!
Photo number two, shows you Tucker, pulling out “Grandma’s” pillow case, out of my trap🤣🤣🐶🐶🐶
