Xico Bush Beans grown by Courtis Family Farms 2024 🫛
Very productive with good heat resistance. We were sent these last year by Seed Savers Exchange as part of a grow out program to help preserve and provide others with this heirloom from Mexico. We kept a few after the project in order to grow out for our customers. This year we grew 50 plants from 50 beans and harvested approximately 600 pods containing anywhere from 5 to 8 beans each on average.

We companion plant these with the cannabis plants, as the beans give off the nitrogen needed for the cannabis in the first few months of production. The cannabis plants provide part shade for the beans but don't cause them to dry out. The nice thing about them being grown as companion plants is that the beans are done growing and can be harvested just before the flowering stage of the cannabis plants when they no longer require as much nitrogen.

We will be offering them going forward in packs of 40 for $3.50 each. Seeds will come in our origami packages made from old seed catalogues.

We had the absolute pleasure of growing the flowers for a family member's wedding, we had to supplement some of the white flowers from the metro but we grew some absolutely stunning Celosias, Zinnias and Marigolds.
