SCCL Optimizing calf, lamb and kid beginnings with colostrum perfected by science, nature and care.

Since 1994 SCCL has been dedicated to providing all natural bovine colostrum products to our customers worldwide. Our success is driven by years of research by veterinary immunologists from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine who continue to lead a team of scientists creating the best colostrum products in the world. SCCL is a privately held biosciences company specializing in developing an

d producing innovative colostrum products from healthy dairy cows approved to produce milk for human consumption. Scientists at SCCL have developed methods of accurately measuring some of the key immunological, metabolic, and nutritional components found in colostrum. Using these assays, in combination with a proprietary processing method that preserves the levels of key components, SCCL produces spray dried, refined colostrum products that contain specified levels of important ingredients. We are proud to introduce our new instant mix technology in our colostrum products; offering easy and complete mixing in seconds. Our colostrum is tested for potency, purity, safety and efficacy to guarantee an end product that meets the highest quality control specifications for global distribution. Our facility and products are licensed by stringent regulatory agencies including the CFIA, USDA, SAGARPA, NASC, and others. Our facility is GMP certified by Health Canada and produces NHPD licensed products. We offer our products in many countries including Canada, the United States, Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Israel and the United Kingdom. High-risk situations where a colostrum replacer or supplement is essential:
✅ Orphaned Calf – No access to maternal colostrum
✅ Night Calving – Delays in first feeding can impact immunity
✅ Dystocia (Difficult Birth) – Weak calves may struggle to nurse
✅ Twins – One or both may not get enough colostrum
✅ Low-Quality Colostrum – IgG levels may not be high enough
✅ Low-Volume Colostrum – First-time heifers may not have enough
✅ Disease Transmission – Avoid passing pathogens through maternal colostrum

A strong colostrum protocol protects your calves in these critical moments. SCCL’s whole bovine colostrum products ensure every calf gets the boost they need! Learn more: sccl.com

Transfer of passive immunity = process in which a newborn calf absorbs protective immunoglobulin G (IgG) from colostrum, since antibodies don’t pass from the dam before birth. This early immunity is essential for fighting off disease and ensuring a strong, healthy start.

Providing high-quality colostrum, in the right amount, at the right time gives them the best chance at a healthy future.

Protective antibodies, like immunoglobulin G (IgG), don’t pass from the mother to the calf before birth. Thats where colostrum steps in.

Colostrum isn’t just about IgG antibodies. It’s a powerhouse of immune cells, energy, vitamins, minerals, and bioactives that support gut development and long-term health. Giving high-quality colostrum after birth sets calves up for a strong start.

During cold stress, colostrum plays a critical role in helping calves stay warm. Its fatty acids act as jet fuel for brown fat cells, sparking heat production. Growth factors like FGF, IGF, and EGF also help recruit and mature more brown fat cells, turning them into heat-producing machines.❄️🔥

Unlike humans, calves are born without immunity. 🐄 The cow’s unique placenta blocks antibody transfer during gestation, leaving calves defenseless at birth.

Colostrum is their lifeline, providing:
❗️Immunity through IgG (immunoglobulins).
❗Essential nutrients, growth factors, and energy to support survival and growth.

SCCL's annual clothing and food drive was a big success!

Thanks to everyone's generosity, SCCL topped last year’s results with an outpouring of donations! Our team made two trips to the Clothing Depot before the holidays because our bins were overflowing, and The Food Bank team picked up the rest of the food donations afterwards. With contributions of clothing, food, and cash, plus SCCL matching donations, the grand total in donations was $4,670.00!

A huge thank-you to everyone who participated—your kindness truly makes a difference.
