S**T Street Cat Rescue Program Inc. Est 1996. Please note: We do not house our adoptable cats at our office.
(287)

is a foster based program that focuses on the rescue & rehabilitation of stray cats and kittens in Saskatoon and areas. S**T Street Cat Rescue Program Inc. has been saving and bettering feline lives since 1996 and became a registered charity on January 25, 1997. The S**T Team rescues and cares for stray, abandoned, feral, sick, injured and neo-natal cats, provides medical care, socialization throu

gh foster home care and attempts to find permanent homes for the cats. S**T provides cat care information and spay/neuter education to improve the human/pet experience and to reduce the problem of pet overpopulation. We believe that kindness and compassion towards animals creates a better community for us all. Our volunteers and staff are dedicated and passionate
about providing the best care possible for our cats. To that end we will not euthanize any animal unless there is nothing more that we can do medically and under the guidance of a veterinarian. We thank all the animal care professionals for helping us maintain the high standards of care for the cat's welfare.

As February is the month of love, we’re trying to spread some by highlighting some of our adoptable cats who have been patiently waiting for their forever homes. Featured today is Xena! 💕

Xena is a sweet gal who fought a hard battle against the harsh 2021 Saskatchewan winter. Unfortunately, the casualties of this war were Xena’s ear tips and part of her tail. But that doesn’t stop this brave girl- though she’s an older cat, Xena still has plenty of playfulness in her as she loves toys with strings, and noisy balls to bat around!

A huge cuddler and a fan of getting brushes and belly rubs, Xena is a chatty girl who particularly loves to chat with her foster family at breakfast time. Despite losing quite a few teeth, Xena has an excellent appetite. Xena also has a heart murmur and liver disease; she takes three different types of medication and is doing miraculously well! While Xena appreciates her human friends, she has a spicy side with other cats, and would prefer being the only cat in the home. 🐾

If you have it in your heart and home to give this sweet girl a loving family, don’t hesitate to reach out to us! Learn more about her right here-> https://streetcat.ca/xena

As February is the month of love, we’re trying to spread some by highlighting some of our adoptable cats who have been patiently waiting for their forever homes. Featured today is Reginald! 💜❤️

Reginald is a charismatic, laid back, and chatty guy who would be a great addition to almost any household. He gets along great with the cat and dog in his foster home, and would probably do better with an all-adult home, or a home with older children.

Reginald would love to tell you all about his day when you get home, give you all the deets on the neighbourhood goings-on, provide input on what the plans for the weekend should be - anything really, he just loves to chat! He also loves to play with the feather wand and will tell you (in no uncertain terms) when he thinks it’s play time! Even though Reginald loves to talk, he is very quiet at night and is used to sleeping in his own room. This little guy is a perfect mix of fun feline engagement, but still having an independent side and enjoying some downtime! 🐾

Fun fact: Reginald is blind in one eye but he hasn’t gotten the memo yet so he acts like any other cat- running, jumping and playing like normal! He is also being treated for glaucoma in his other eye but he has no problems taking his eye drops like a champ! If you’d like to learn more about this amazing guy, check him out right here- > https://streetcat.ca/reginald

As February is the month of love, we’re trying to spread some by highlighting some of our adoptable cats who have been patiently waiting for their forever homes. Featured today is Oriella! 💖❤️

An incredibly sweet little kitty, Oriella has made leaps and bounds since being trapped with her two kittens back in the fall of 2023. A brave mama cat, Oriella fought hard to keep her kittens safe outdoors, and while she’s opened up a great deal with humans, she’s still a bit on the timid side. That said, Oriella’s people are treated to never-ending kitty affection- biscuits, purrs, cuddles, even snuggles in bed at night, are all Oriella’s speciality! She may love her cuddles, but Oriella also knows how to play- she enjoys batting around toys and playing with her kitty foster brothers. If you have a loving household, and maybe even a cat of your own, consider getting endless snuggles with Oriella! Learn more about this cutie pie right here -> https://streetcat.ca/oriella 🐾

We wanted to take some time to honor a special kitty who was only with us a brief time, but was worthy of every ounce of kindness we could offer.

Our friends at Paws Republic Centre for Pets had a stray cat brought in and they immediately recognized that she needed some medical attention because she was showing some alarming neurological signs. They called us and we made the call for an emergency intake and she was rushed to the Vet.

She was in kidney failure, had very elevated white blood cell counts, as well as other issues. She was transferred over to the WCVM for ongoing care and to give her a fighting chance. At one point, it seemed like things might be getting better, but unfortunately this morning she had multiple system failures and the only right thing to do was give her a warm goodbye.

Through it all, Harriette was the absolute sweetest girl, full of purrs and love.

Thank you to Paws Republic for jumping right in and making sure she had her best chance.

We only knew you briefly, but we loved you just the same. Rest easy, sweet Harriette.

As February is the month of love, we’re trying to spread some by highlighting some of our adoptable cats who have been patiently waiting for their forever homes. Featured today is Pismashio! ❤️💖

Pismashio (lovingly called Mashi), is a big tomcat who's had a rough life thus far. He came to S**T with a large wound on his face, and an understandably cranky attitude! Over the last year, Mashi’s personality has changed dramatically in the care of his foster mom- he has learned to love getting chin and tummy scratches, he enjoys laying on your lap, and talking to you as he meows about his day! Mashi is a very independent boy, and has been described as the “big brother” of the house with the other cats. Mashi would ideally have another cat to hang out with in his forever home, and also have his own bit of space to do his thing. If you’re looking for kitty cuddles and a friend for your current feline, Mashi just might be right for you! Learn more about this sweet boy right here -> https://streetcat.ca/pismashio 🐾

As February is the month of love, we’re trying to spread some by highlighting some of our adoptable cats who have been patiently waiting for their forever homes. Featured today is Zee! 💖❤️

A brave retired mama cat, Zee was trapped near Saskatoon in November 2023. Her stubby ear tips and missing teeth attest to her tough time outdoors as she fended for herself and her kittens. Zee was very timid and distrustful when she first came into S**T’s care, however, after lots of love, warmth, food, and trust-building, Zee has changed dramatically! That said, Zee has a more timid personality and would do best in a quieter household. But that doesn’t mean she can’t have friends- Zee has done well with calm dogs, and can tolerate other cats who respect her space. If you’re a laid-back home who can give lots of cuddles and patience, Zee could be the one for you! Learn more about this sweet girl right here -> https://streetcat.ca/zee 🐾

Coconut is ready for adoption!!

She had a lot to overcome when she was found in a chicken coop by new property owners. She had an upper respiratory infection that impacted her ability to hunt and eat. She was severely underweight but with medication and lots of good food and care she was able to rebound fairly quickly. After a couple of weeks she was healthy enough to vaccinate but we had to wait longer for her to be spayed and for her ear infection to clear up.

Coconut is a smart and curious girl who, although she does like to play, most likes to cuddle. She is excellent with other cats and loves to groom and snuggle with them. She is an excellent lap warmer and will happily devote a couple of hours every night to laying and purring with the humans. She is an excellent supervisor, even following the humans while they do chores like vacuuming.

Coconut likely had no, or very limited, human interaction in her old life so she is still adjusting to humans and sometimes will let fear get the better of her. She is slowly letting her guard down though and getting better every day.

Coconut may always be small from early malnutrition. She would likely do best in a quieter home or with the understanding that she is likely to run away from children/loud people and will need lots of time to adjust. Although she hasn’t shown any sign of wanting to be outside, care should be taken to make sure she doesn’t get out, as she may be hard to catch.
She was found with her friend/brother Cornbread who also will hopefully be ready for adoption soon as well.
