🐾 We would like to gratefully thank the kind hearted volunteers who have been helping us try to trap the missing tuxedo cat from Viscount that got away near the Eye gallery on College Dr. 🪤Our volunteers have been going to the traps to check them and refresh the food inside. A huge thank you to Kelsey, Marthe, Rebecca, Brittney, Emily, Tiyonna, Alishia and Brooklyn, as well as to a neighbour named Sarah who has been greatly helping us.

We are continuing to try to trap this poor cat and appreciate all the help we can get! ❤️‍🩹 If you’d like to volunteer to check the trap for us to give him the best chance of being caught, please contact us! 🐾

🚨Help urgently needed! 🚨
We are looking for volunteers who are willing to check a cat trap for us in the College Dr. / University area. We’re still trying to trap the tuxedo cat from Viscount that got away on Friday afternoon outside the eye gallery. There have been possible sightings and paw prints leading up to the trap, so we hope he’s still close. 🐾

We’re grateful to a neighbour who has been watching the trap when she can and our amazing volunteer Kelsey who has spent a lot of time going to check the trap. We need other volunteers who can go check the trap even once or twice when possible so that we can leave it set in between the times others can check it. We can’t leave the trap set and open if there aren’t any volunteers to check it when we aren’t available. Contact us if you’re able to help! ❤️‍🩹

🚨 Please keep an eye out for this male tuxedo cat in the College Dr / the Eye Gallery area! 🙏🏻 He is fearful but loves food if you offer him some. He’s not used to Saskatoon and will be very scared. If you see him please let us know and we’ll rush there. If you’re able to contain him shortly, that would be so helpful! He is an outdoor cat from Viscount and managed to get away from us when we were transferring him carriers at our vehicle so he could go to foster care 💔

Do you or anyone you know live near the Eye Gallery? If you do, would you be willing to monitor a trap in your yard for us to try to catch him?

🚨Foster homes are needed now more than ever with these freezing temperatures! ❄️ Please consider opening your home and heart to a foster cat to save their life in this bitter cold weather. We provide the foster cat’s food, litter, supplies and medical care through donations.

We have 8 cats currently on our waitlist waiting to become safe indoors 💔 Please contact us for a foster home application if you’re interested in saving cats in need!

1. There are seven ~10 month old cats who are living outdoors together in Viscount. They were born from a feral mama cat who appeared to be currently pregnant when last seen. The finder hasn’t had any luck trapping the mama cat yet, so for now we are looking for foster care for her 10 month old kittens who are at risk of freezing outside or mating with one another. There is a mix of male and female tuxedo and striped tabby cats. 4 - 5 are social and can be petted. 2 - 3 are fearful and would need more socialization from their foster home.

2. Cookie is a very sweet and friendly male tabby cat who has been seeking refuge in a barn just outside of Saskatoon. The other cats in the barn are upset with his arrival, and this is causing them to go out into the cold so Cookie needs immediate placement. Cookie is very friendly with new animals and humans.

🐾 Our rescue has taken on a new little family of 5 kittens and their mom who were found living under a shed outdoors in the cold ❄️ in the Sutherland area. The mama cat, Harriet, had been seen to have had at least 1 more litter of kittens outdoors previously. A kindhearted supporter named Jessica made it her mission to catch the family and get them placed in foster care through our rescue. She successfully trapped Harriet and caught the 5 kittens 🎉 We are so thankful that this little family is now safe and out of the cold, and that mama cat Harriet can be spayed in the future to stop the kitten cycle. By the look of her belly, there is a possibility that Harriet could already be pregnant with another litter of kittens even though her current litter is only roughly 6 weeks old.🐱 We will get a vet to confirm her pregnancy when the kittens go in for their vaccination appointment, but we may be able to tell sooner if her belly continues to grow!

The kittens have been named Hermione, Harlow, Harper, Hazel and Holly. A loving family who has 3 children, has decided they would like to adopt 3 of the kittens from this litter once they are ready just in time for Christmas! 🎉🎄 We hope that their adoption goes as planned, and that these kittens are welcomed into the loving home that they deserve ❤️

🐾 We have implemented the “Blossom” 🌸 program for cats who need longer periods of time in foster care in order to become more socialized and work on their trust of humans before they can become adoptable. These cats may have been previously feral, traumatized or fearful of humans due to living a hard life. Watching a cat go from being fearful and untouchable, to blossoming into a friendly and affectionate adoptable pet is truly rewarding and worth all of the effort put into helping them.

We have 3 cats in our rescue who aren’t up for adoption because they’re working on their socialization skills in order to have success finding new homes. We also have 1 cat who, after several months of socialization, has graduated from our program and is now up for adoption. Click on their photos to read their individual stories 📖

If you’d like to help socialize any cats in need to help them become adoptable and have a better chance in life, please contact us for a foster home application. 🐈

🐾 It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Phoebe, the kitten who was having continuous seizures 💔 Phoebe came to our rescue having 1 - 3 seizures in an hour. Phoebe was tested and X-rayed to rule out many different possible causes of her seizures, and was placed on a series of medications. On Monday, Phoebe’s foster mom woke up to her having a continuous seizure that wouldn’t stop. Phoebe was rushed to the University vet clinic and admitted to the ICU 🏥 where she needed more than one medication to stop her seizures. She was placed on a feeding tube and fluid IVs because she would no longer eat or drink and as of last night was showing very low brain activity and little to no response to touch. She was given the acid bile test and ultrasound on top of her previous testing, which didn’t show any abnormalities or damage to her liver which ruled out another cause for seizures. Today, there wasn’t any improvement and Phoebe wasn’t showing any signs of recovery. We opted not to do the MRI we originally wanted to do, because it was explained to us that an MRI would only be able to show us if the cause of seizures was a brain or brain stem issue, both of which would not be treatable. The veterinarian told us that she didn’t see an end result where Phoebe would end up being able to live a healthy, happy life considering her critically poor state of health. So we made the difficult, compassionate decision to euthanize Phoebe, and allow her to be pain and stress free ❤️‍🩹 Phoebe’s foster mom visited her during her stay, and was there with Phoebe when she was euthanized so she was given all of our love right until the end. We are truly devastated by this outcome, but know we did all we could to try to save Phoebe.

We want to thank our incredibly generous and kindhearted donors ❤️ who allowed us to do everything possible to help Phoebe receive the medical treatment she needed and to do all that could be done to try to save her life. Thankyou graciously to Andjelija N, Shawn R, Wes C, Shaharin H, Jada S, Marc H, Kelsey S, Heidi A, Melodie E, Kaitlyn K and Hannah R, who helped us fundraise a total of $735 of Phoebe’s medical care expenses.

Rest in peace beautiful little Phoebe 💕

Phoebe the kitten who has frequent seizures is in critical condition 💔 Phoebe’s foster mom woke up this morning to find Phoebe having a continuous seizure, so she was rushed to the emergency University vet clinic and admitted to the ICU 🏥 She isn’t doing well, and has no diagnosis yet ❤️‍🩹 We urgently need your help to get Phoebe the medical care she needs!
Please consider donating by E-transfer or on our go fund me page, and please share with your friends! No donation is too small, every little bit helps❤️

🐾 Update on Phoebe, the kitten who has frequent seizures: Phoebe is now on the medication Phenobarbital, as well as Clinicin (an antibiotic, in case she has an ear infection) and vitamin B-1 injections, on top of her continued Gabapentin, ear mite treatments, and Sub-Q fluids. She is still experiencing very frequent seizures, but the intensity and length of them have slightly improved, so the medications are helping minimally.

We still need your help covering the remainder of our initial $672 vet bill for Phoebe’s testing, and now need help covering the cost of the next 2 tests she needs (~$345), as well as her new medications ($88.12). The toxoplasmosis test is ~$220 and the PDS bile acid test is $124.93. If these tests don’t give us answers about what’s causing Phoebe’s ongoing seizures, then she will need to travel to Edmonton for an MRI which will cost upwards of $2000. 🏥

Please consider donating to Phoebe’s medical care so that we can get answers about her condition and she can receive proper treatment to hopefully reduce or eliminate the awful seizures she experiences❤️‍🩹 Every little bit will help Phoebe, no donation is too small!

🐾 Last week, our rescue took on a beautiful, heavily pregnant black cat who gave birth to a litter of 5 healthy kittens just over a day later while in foster care. Mama cat has been named Velvet, and she is very sweet, calm and appreciative of being safe inside with her kittens💗 4 kittens are black, 1 kitten is striped and they have been named Magic, Majesty, Kichi, Kismet and Raven. Velvet and her kittens will be listed for adoption when the kittens are at least 8 weeks old.

🐾 Congratulations to Phoenix and Charlie 🎉on getting adopted into their new loving home together 💗🏡 Their new parents, Tara and Alex, adored the brothers upon first meeting them. They originally chose Phoenix to try in their home on an adoption trial, and after a few days of falling in love with him they decided to pickup Charlie too because they couldn’t stop thinking about him. The brothers are so thrilled that they got adopted together into a loving home, and are always by each others side💕 Phoenix and Charlie can often be found laying in their mom & dad’s bed together, playing together, chasing each other around the house, sitting in the windows watching the birds together and playing on their cat tower. We wish Phoenix and Charlie long, happy lives together with their new family! 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦❤️

Phoenix and Charlie are 2 of 5 kittens who were born from a semi-feral mom cat named Autumn, who was living in the Domremy community. Their sisters, Louise and Lexi (who was previously adopted and returned to the rescue), are currently up for adoption and looking for their forever homes🏡 Their mom, Autumn, is being socialized in foster care and is working on her trust of new humans❤️‍🩹
