We have so many puppies at the Saskatoon SPCA right now! If you’ve been thinking about adding a playful friend to your family, this is the perfect time. Check out our website at saskatoonspca.com/dogs to see all the dogs and puppies waiting for their forever homes.

It breaks our hearts when puppies spend too long at the shelter. Stepping in now can change their whole future. The “Fairy Tale” litter was born in foster care and is finally ready to meet you. Aurora is bursting with energy and loves chatting through barks. Casper, a curious boy, has the sweetest chocolatey coat. Christopher is a ball of fun who can’t wait to shower you with puppy kisses. Bailey, a goofball, is eager to share her silly games and sweet snuggles.

Give one of these bright pups a happy ending. They’re all waiting to bring joy, laughter, and warm cuddles to your home.

Meet Alfred (or “Alfie” as he’s lovingly called). He shows that if something is meant to happen, it will. Back in 2019, his adopter first had her eye on another dog at the Saskatoon SPCA, but that didn’t work out. Then she met Alfie. After a short walk together, it was clear he was the perfect match.

Today, Alfie is the heart of his family’s home. He’s there for every milestone—marriage, kids, and even more dogs. He’s the best friend they could ask for!

We love hearing these stories. If you have an SPCA alumni tale of your own, please share it at [email protected]. We might feature your story in our newsletter or on social media!

Does your cat freak out whenever the carrier appears? Making sure they’re comfortable can reduce stress for vet visits, travel, or emergencies. Place the carrier in a room they love and add a soft blanket inside for coziness. Offer treats or feed them in the carrier so it feels like a safe place. You can also use catnip or a calming spray, such as Feliway, to help them relax. Keep the door open, and let them explore at their own pace. When the carrier is familiar and comfortable, your cat will be calmer if you need a sudden trip.

UPDATE: Paddington has been adopted!!!!

It breaks our hearts to see sweet Paddington still waiting at the shelter after all her brothers and sisters have gone home. She’s calm, gentle, and already knows how to sit, yet she’s been overlooked. Paddington is sure to make you laugh with her silly side, and her stubborn streak only shows how determined she can be. We wish she didn’t have to stay here for so long. If you’re ready for a loyal friend who will fill your days with fun and cuddles, please visit the Saskatoon SPCA. Paddington deserves a loving family—could it be yours?

World Spay Day is today! This special event reminds us that spaying and neutering pets is one of the best ways to reduce overpopulation and homelessness. At the Saskatoon SPCA, we’re proud to share that in 2024 we provided 1,194 spay and neuter surgeries.

By working together, we can cut down on the number of animals needing shelter care and help them find loving homes. Join us in celebrating World Spay Day and consider scheduling your pet’s procedure. Let’s spread the word to keep our pets healthier and our community stronger!
