As a registered charitable organization, the Saskatoon SPCA relies on the generosity of individual and corporate donors to raise necessary funds to provide shelter, care, nutrition and love to an average of 4,000 abandoned, lost, homeless and neglected animals annually. In addition to raising awareness about responsible pet ownership and providing adoption programs, lost and found and volunteer pr

ograms, the Saskatoon SPCA is also responsible to promote and enact laws that protect animals from cruelty, neglect and abuse through Animal Protection Services, with an aim to create a more compassionate world where animals are valued and treated with respect.

🐾 Winter training just got a whole lot more fun at the Saskatoon SPCA 🐾

Our January Pawsitive Pups classes are starting soon, and there is an exciting mix of options for dogs of all ages and skill levels.

✨ Introduction to Nosework
Starting this Wednesday
Open to dogs of all ages and experience levels. Nosework is a fantastic mental workout and a perfect way to keep dogs busy and happy during cold weather.

🐶 Puppy and Obedience Classes
Starting next Tuesday
Our most popular classes are back and filling quickly. A great foundation for manners, focus, and confidence.

🎉 Tricks Class
Starting January 11
Learn fun tricks, bond with your dog, and even work toward earning a Novice Trick Dog title. A great excuse to get out of the house and burn off energy this winter.

🐕 Rally Obedience
Practice heelwork skills and short rally courses in a supportive, upbeat environment.

⚡ Teenage Puppy Impulse Control
Perfect for those adolescent dogs who need help with focus, self-control, and big feelings.

💙 Alumni Update Sunday 💙

In 2006, during his first year of vet school, Tyler adopted a cat named Sugar from the Saskatoon SPCA. Sugar soon became Allistair, and he sealed the deal by licking Tyler’s nose.

From that moment on, Allistair was family.

He traveled across North America by car, supported Tyler through vet school in Saskatoon, internships and residencies across the U.S., the opening of a veterinary practice, marriage, the arrival of a child, and finally a return home to Kelowna.

After nearly two decades of love, care, and adventure, Allistair was recently diagnosed with untreatable metastatic lung cancer. His family gave him one last Christmas filled with comfort, steroids, and an all you can eat shrimp buffet, then made the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye when his quality of life declined.

Tyler shared this message with us:
“Thank you to the Saskatoon SPCA for bringing Allistair into our lives. We will be donating in his memory.”

Thank you, Tyler, for giving Allistair such a long, full, and deeply loved life. This is what we hope for every animal who walks through our doors.

Meet Piggly Wiggly 🐷💙

Yes, that is really his name. And yes, we think it is absolutely perfect for him.

Some people have made fun of the name Piggly Wiggly, but once you meet this 8-month-old Boxer mix, it just fits. He is full of joy, full of energy, and famous for his legendary butt wiggle. When Piggly Wiggly is happy, his whole body joins in, and he is always happy to see you.

Piggly Wiggly is friendly, social, and loves being around people. He enjoys walks, playtime, and “chatting” with his humans. If something is happening, he wants to be part of it. His goofy charm and positive spirit make him hard to forget.

You can come meet Piggly Wiggly today or this weekend. Our adoption centre is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Don’t miss out on this special guy. He might just be the wiggle your life is missing.

As we welcome 2026, we are looking back with full hearts at what our community made possible in 2025. ❤️

Thanks to you, 1,408 animals found loving homes.

🐶 383 dogs adopted
• 100 adult dogs
• 283 puppies

🐱 1,015 cats adopted
• 333 adult cats
• 682 kittens

🐰 Plus 3 rabbits and 7 small mammals who also found families of their own.

Every number represents a life changed forever. A warm bed. A full bowl. A second chance.

Thank you to everyone who chose adoption, shared our posts, fostered, volunteered, donated, advocated, or simply cheered us on. Your support made this year possible.

As we step into 2026, please note that the Saskatoon SPCA will be closed on January 1.

We want to wish you a very happy New Year and say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who stood beside us this past year. To our donors, adopters, fosters, volunteers, and to every person who shared a post, sent kind words, or supported us in quiet ways, you made a real difference for animals who needed help. We are deeply grateful to our veterinary clinic partners, the shelters and rescues we work alongside, and our satellite partners who open their doors to our adoptable animals. Because of this community, animals found safety, care, and love. Here’s to 2026 and to continuing this work together for the animals who need us most. 🐾

We have officially run out of Kitten Milk Replacer (KMR), and our tiniest kittens need help right now. KMR is a lifesaving food for orphaned and underage kittens who are not ready to eat on their own or who are weaning onto soft food. It is important to note that KMR is not the same as cat milk, which is a treat, so please be sure it is kitten milk replacer.
