Happy Tongue Out Tuesday from Zuri! 😋 Zuri is a 6-month-old cutie who was brought to us to find his furever home. He can be a bit nervous at first with new people, but once he feels safe with you he is a total lovebug! He likes getting scritches and leans right into you for pets. He enjoys his outside time and still has some fun, playful, puppy energy! ❤️ He is eager to please and does well with gentle guidance and patience - we know he can learn quickly if you give him a chance. 😊 Please apply if you’d like to meet him! These pictures of silly Mojo are just too good not to share on this Sunday Funday! Mojo has such a lovable, goofy personality. 😂❤️ He is so playful, he loves squeaky toys, running around outside, and he decided he loved this open frisbee - it isn’t stuck on him, he just decided that was a good way to hold it. 😆 He loves people and would love nothing more than to flop into you and get all the pets and scritches you’ll give him. Happy Sunday Funday! Remember the box of abandoned puppies we needed fosters for? Well, they’ve all been getting loved on in their foster homes, and are now ready for adoption! ❤️ They are sweet, playful, smart pups who are all learning and working on their potty training.

We don’t have them individually posted yet, but there are 7 boys and 1 girl. They look like lab-mixes, but some have a bit of brindle coloring so we aren’t quite sure what the mix is! Please send in an application if you’re interested in adopting (indicate that you’re interested in one of the lab-mix pups) - we will take a few days to review to make sure we find great homes for all of them. 🐾

More Caturday cuties for you - Courtney and Cora are still searching for their furever homes! ❤️Courtney came to us this fall along with her four young kittens. The whole group went into foster care until the kittens were adoption-ready, then they returned to the shelter to find their furever homes. 😺 Three of the kittens have now been adopted, and little Cora is the last one left! She is a sweet, silly, playful, 3-month-old cutie. Courtney is is a beautiful torbie girl who is equally sweet and playful! She likes chasing toys but also loves getting pets and scritches. Happy Caturday from Sweetie! This handsome guy is still searching for his furever home, and he’d sure love to be your new bestie. ❤️ He’s been with us for four months now, and his personality has really come out! At first he was a bit more reserved, but now he is an outgoing, vocal guy who wants our attention. 🥰 As a 6-year-old, he mostly just wants a nice, comfy life - he loves getting pets and just being near people. He likes to sit on the cat tree to look out the window, and he’s a big fan of a cozy bed to curl up in. He seems like he’d be fine with other friendly cats as well. Our Happy Tail this week is from a cute dog named Bella who was adopted from us all the way back in 2014! Her humans sent us an update and said:

“With the holiday season in full swing I thought it would be the perfect time to send an update on Bella. She joined our family on March 4, 2014.

Bella continues to live life to the fullest! We are so grateful to have found her. We continue to shower her with love. She doesn’t ask for much. When we first adopted Bella she was a bit of a runner, however over the years she became so attached that we cannot go anywhere without her. (And that’s perfectly fine with us.)

This year has been very difficult for our family. If you are reading this and considering adoption I would like to assure you that there may come a time when you will actually need them more than they need you. Our Bella has provided so much unconditional love and comfort and we are so grateful to have her.

For 2025, we wish for perfect matches and forever homes for the those that find themselves in need of shelter. We also wish the Board of Directors, staff and volunteers health and happiness as they continue to work tirelessly to make a difference! And for those who choose to rescue/adopt we hope your lives are changed forever.”

Ralphie’s fosters sent us this cute picture of him sporting a tiny Santa hat for Christmas! 🎅🏻 We hoped that he would find his furever home in time for the pawlidays, but at least he’s in wonderful hands while he waits to be chosen. ❤️ If you’re looking to adopt a sweet, silly, adorable floof - Ralphie may be he one you’re waiting for! Christmas came early for the shelter dogs this year! Our friends at Pet Valu collected toys for the shelter pets, and invited us to their Second Line location to let some of the dogs choose their Christmas toys! K9 Mobile Nails and Grooming also donated $5 from each nail trim done at their December clinic to purchase toys for the dogs. 🐾

Check out a fun video of the dogs who came with us to pick a toy out! This features Mojo, Sasha, Jack, and Daniel. ❤️ We gave a new toy to each shelter dog as well, and still had extra for our toy bin! Happy Pawlidays!

Happy Tuesday from little Mukwa! Mukwa is a 3.5-year-old guy who is searching for his furever home. He loves people - he wants to be near you and likes to sleep in bed with his human at night! We’ve got some shoutouts we’d like to give! We’ve received some amazing support this holiday season, we’re so grateful for this community. ❤️

First up: Thank you to Algoma Family Services! They put together some baskets for the shelter pets. 🎄

Second: Thank you to Amanda and Jennifer! Amanda is a former volunteer, and they put together a tote of goodies to donate to the shelter every year. They also adopted a pair of kittens from us this summer! 😺

Third: Thank you to the City of Sault Ste. Marie Provincial Offenses Office! They collected and donated blankets, toys, and supplies for the shelter pets for Christmas. 🎅🏻

And last but not least: Thank you to the Sault College Nursing Program! They purchased toys, treats, and blankets for the animals. 🐶

Thank you so much to these four groups/organizations, the shelter pets are going to have a good pawliday thanks to your generosity. 🐾😊

For National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day, we wanted to highlight Zoey! Zoey has been in our care for 18 months now and is still searching for her furever home. She did have a nice break from the shelter in foster care - she loves going on adventures, is a great hiking buddy, likes riding in the car, and is a general snuggly lovebug! She does need to be the only pet in the home due to some protective behaviors, but she does okay with a structured introduction for outside playtime with other dogs. If you can help us give Zoey her happy furever, please apply! We're also open to another foster placement for her in the meantime!

Little Foot has been searching for her furever home for just over a year now. ❤️‍🩹We know that taking on a diabetic pet can seem daunting, so here's a quick video showing how easily it is to administer insulin! Little Foot is being fostered by one of our team members and her personality has really come out since she got out of the shelter. She can be playful and spunky, and she really enjoys being around people. Little Foot doesn't like other pets, so she'd be a great in a home where she can be the star of the show. Please apply if you'd like to meet her - we'll arrange a meet-and-greet at her foster home. 😺🐾
