🍂 Ticks love fall, not just warmer weather! They can be active at temperatures of 4°C and above, which can happen during ANY season of the year.
So please keep up on your pet’s tick prevention!

By preventing tick bites, you prevent tick-borne diseases, such as Lyme disease, that can cause severe illness.

If you don’t know which product is best for your pet, we’re happy to help!

Tips for keeping your pet cool in the summer heat! 😎

💦Keep them hydrated! Have ample amounts of fresh, cool water available.
💦Avoid activity during peak heat. Go for walks at cooler times of the day.
💦Avoid hot pavement to prevent burnt pads.
💦Never leave a dog in a hot car! Even with the windows open, cars heat up very quickly.
💦Use cooling mats or collars.
💦Make some frozen treats.

🌞 Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy the outdoors and spend quality time with our pets! BUT keep in mind that high temperatures can be dangerous and put our friends at risk of heat stroke.

Signs of heat stroke include:
-Increased heart rate
-Rapid panting
-Bright red gums
-Drooling, vomiting, or diarrhea
-Lethargy
-Confusion or disorientation
-Collapse and coma in severe cases, which can quickly progress to death
-Brachycephalic (short-faced) breeds are very susceptible to overheating

If you suspect your pet may have heat stroke, contact emergency services immediately 1-705-806-8519

Happy Canada Day weekend! 😻🇨🇦🎉
We hope everyone has a wonderful & safe long weekend!

Please keep in mind that although fireworks are fun, they can be terrifying to pets! Here are a few helpful tips to keep your pets safe:

-Keep your pet indoors during fireworks displays.

-If your pet is fearful, have a safe place where they feel comfortable, such as a crate or other confined space.

-Play white noise or music to block out some of the noise.

-You can block out some of the flashing lights by keeping the curtains closed and the lights on.

-Even if your pet does not seem distressed by fireworks, it’s not advised to bring them to a fireworks display. Animals are much more sensitive to the sounds and smells they produce.

-Also remember that fireworks, sparklers, and glow sticks can be toxic if ingested.
