It’s important to always be learning and improving a persons horsemanship. Yesterday Pendleton and I went to Jesse O’Brien’s for a lesson. Came home with a few new drills and different things to try on all the horses. Never stop training.

Scribbles has been a very slow work in progress. Some horses just take a little more time to mature and build their confidence. He is slowly starting to feel confident in himself and it’s a amazing feeling to help him grow. He is for sale to someone who will help him build.

Poppy is just loving this barrel racing things. 9th out of 131 on her fourth run. She absolutely loves it and is getting better and better. Always working to build on for the next run.

Mr Pendleton is coming along. We have had to work through some pressure issues but we have got them tackled now. So happy with how he handled double s last weekend. Running in the 2D on his forth run is awesome. Can’t wait to see were he goes this year.

Enjoyed having this young one here for a month riding. She is two coming three by Wink out of cutter mare miss Daisy. She came a long ways in a month and it was awesome to see her owner riding her around so nice.

Tucked the horses in for the night. Amazing how the weather can change in 24 hours. Last night was 12 above with 90 km/h winds. Tonight is -1 and snowing.

Cowgirl yoga. When the three year olds you are riding are so tall you have to lift your foot over your waist just to reach the stirrup. Good thing they stand still and are stool trained.

It’s Christmas Day in barrel racer land. It’s the day we all count down to for our young ones. Today starts a new season for the next round of futurity c**ts. I am beyond excited for these two to get a chance to start showing their stuff.

It is estimated over 8 million horses perished during the war. Many horses died as a result of the extreme conditions at the front— exhaustion, drowning and disease. The number of equine casualties was shocking. On just one day during the Battle of Verdun in 1916, 7000 horses were killed by shelling. By 1917, Britain had over a million horses in service and by the time the war was over, Britain alone had lost 484,000 horses.
