I am at a loss for words... I had an incident happen to me almost two months ago now, where a dog strayed onto a property, and started an attack on an elderly ladies family pet in front of me. I managed to seperate the two dogs thankfully, but not before the stray had turned its attack on me. I lossed my keys when the situation unfolded, and had to wait for the owner of the property to call her daughter so i could be taken to the hospital. I was taken to the shubenacadie family clinic, where I was told immediately to go to emergency. My girlfriend Brooklyn took me to the Musquidobit hospital where the doctor pointed out I would need plastic surgery done, and will need to go to Halifax to receive this.
I have been in and out of the QE2 infirmary, for 2 operations for major tendon repair, and a few other follow ups. I have lost major function of my thumb, which is very disheartening for a guitarist. I've lost time I can not get back, and much more.
Simple chores became difficult, cleaning was impossible, and driving was not an option. I was incapacitated for 6 weeks. The stress, on stop of the pain medications of having to have everything done for you, and to have to ask for everything in good will that I will pay back every dollar I owe back in good time was almost unbearable.
Phone call after phone call i tryed figuring out what to do, but managed to get no where. I have been told my municipality that the dog is up to date on all vaccinations, but received confirmation from the owner that it has never been to see a vet since it was a puppy! My physician did not report the bite that seen me in Musquidobit, so the dog was never seen or assessed by public health, in turn proper protocol was not able to be followed. I would like to find a lawyer capable of helping me pursue these matters further. I have tryed and found it more then difficult. I have been told I suffer from depression, because of this situation and now need help.
If this happened with any of the dogs, that were under my supervision, the dog would have been seized, and I would be charged. I am responsible for my pets actions, and so should these owners be. The world is not your dogs back yard, and your going to learn that.
Can someone help me with regards to this please?!?!
