We've talk about short girths, now we look at higher up the barrel to determine where the buckles of a longer girth cannot sit. In addition to the edge of the latissimus muscle, we also want to avoid the widest point of the barrel as placement for the buckles as they will constantly see to find an area of less tension such as over or under that center point, causing increased instability.

Girths that are buckled behind the green line which is the balance point of the horse, determined by the end of the sternum, will find the girth being pulled forward into the natural girth groove.

Making Wins!!

I took a step back and re-evaulated my facilitation with L.

I had an idea that I would have him read large words of the verbal cues for a horse, to have him engaged in his riding lesson, while also learning to communicate with the horse.

This proved to be it. This was it. All I needed. I found the way to support him when I left the last lesson very proud of him but wondering what could help him so he does not mix up his verbal cues.

The purpose of Equine Therapy is to spread the wealth of a beautiful connection to others who need it the most, and have no access to it.
