Making Wins!!
I took a step back and re-evaulated my facilitation with L.
I had an idea that I would have him read large words of the verbal cues for a horse, to have him engaged in his riding lesson, while also learning to communicate with the horse.
This proved to be it. This was it. All I needed. I found the way to support him when I left the last lesson very proud of him but wondering what could help him so he does not mix up his verbal cues.
Ding ding ding 🔔
I found the Answer.
WHOA BEAU, WALK ON.

Worked on balance today!
💙L is a complex needs individual on the ASD Spectrum. We tried a different helmet, and soon we will be working on getting him into proper footwear.
💙 Riding bareback with the blanket has proven to be such a comfort for L. He has great balance and has no problem staying on and feeling the natural movement of the horse.
💙L has sensory issues which makes it hard for him to wear different materials etc. so we will be working on that.
💙 The Smile is so worth it, even when I’m dying of heat from running in the arena 😂

Random test of the day: 3 min lunge with my saddle (3rd time having a saddle on)
Random test of the day: 3 min lunge with my saddle (3rd time having a saddle on)
🍎I like to test him so see what he remembers, and how he reacts, so that I can backtrack if I need to.
🍎It is crucial to never work a young horse hard on the lunge or with heavy weight because they are growing. I dont plan to ride him until he is 3.5-4 years old. He just turned 2.
🍎He loves to learn he is so willing.
🍎This is the Way.
The Mandalorian Random Test of the Day
Random test of the day: 3 min lunge with my saddle (3rd time having a saddle on)
I let him explore the arena with the tack on. This is so that he can go to whatever he wants and realizes the saddle is just like a part of him- nothing to be scared of.
I LOVE HIM.
My time at Timiskaming First Nations
Reserve in Quebec, Teaching Equine Therapy to the First Nations Professional Therapy/Health Team and to the volunteers of "Algonquin Acres" Farm on The Reserve!
I had a blast! I met incredible people, had so much fun teaching and cannot wait for Timiskaming to have Equine Therapy Resources.
Lisa is an incredible woman and I am so honored she chose me to run a Clinic/Seminar.
I will be working remotely watching her bring this all to life.
Also, EVERY CHILD MATTERS.🧡

Positive reinforcement and shockwave therapy
This is my OG boy Beau!
He is a 17-year-old thoroughbred I have owned him for 15 years! Beau has been recently diagnosed with Navicular Disease in the left front. 👎🏽
Beau is used for light trail rides and used in Equine Therapy for children and youth with Autism and/or Developmental Disabilities. 💕
We are on the road to comfort thanks to the lovely Cass, who does PEMF treatments for Beau- and today we tried ShockTherapy!
Beau was really enjoying himself and Im sure he felt some relief! Because the machine is very loud, I wasn’t sure what to expect so I started out with some positive reinforcement only to find out that he really does not care about the noise because he has been trained and desensitized so well! ✨
Thanks again to Cass Equine Sports Therapies! 💕
