With our show season started i want to express how proud I am of all the riders.

As a rider we have to remember that we cannot value our riding based on the colour of the ribbons we walk home with at the end of the day.

Perseverance, hard work, dealing with nerves and working towards our personal goals should be the main focus.

Also, it's wonderful that even though this is an individual sport, watching the riders come together as a team and cheer each other on is such a special moment.

Continue setting goals, work hard but remember this is supposed to be fun!!

Rugged Cross Stables is doing a November food drive for local food bank (s). We would like to make this a friendly competition with all the barns/stables in Ontario to challenge on who can get the most amount of nonperishable foods, hygiene products (men/women) baby food/diapers.
Winners get bragging rights, but in all honesty the real winners are the food banks and those that require the food.
There are 30 days in November lots of time to help fill the food banks.

Merry Christmas everyone.
Thank you for the many gifts and well wishes I received over the holidays. I have been spoiled beyond belief.
Also a huge thank you to the barn elves that offered to do chores Christmas day and Boxing day so I could have time off to spend with my family.
I'm very blessed
Denise

Sneak peak for this week...

I'm asking that everyone makes a Christmas decoration (or 2 or 3 lol) for their lesson next week for that we can make a festive wall.
We might not be having a party, but no reason why we can't decorate and all enjoy the holidays together and seperate at the same time ☃️🎄❄️

Anyone from RCS that has any items they went to sell or donate, please respond under this post and then people can respond if they are interested.

09/09/2020

New September lesson schedule was sent out today. If you didn't get it, please let Denise know

30/07/2020

A little house keeping note

1) Effective August 1 2020 EVERYONE entering the barn/arena area MUST have a face mask with them. Haldimand-Norfolk have passed mask wearing mandates. (masks must be worn when inside when social distancing can not take place). Please have your mask with you so that if required you can put it on.
2) Social distancing needs to be enforced. I already have enough on my plate I don't want to be policing riders/visitors to follow this requirement. Please ensure that families stay together and don't wander around the barn/arena area. I know everyone wants to socialize, but please do so staying 6 feet away from one another
3) Lesson times are to be enforced. You are more then welcome to come early, but you are not to do things that will interrupt the lesson that is taking place. Please remember that you want my undivided attention during your lesson, and the lesson before/after deserves the same.
4) Everyone has the right to have their opinions. Saying that everyone needs to respect that. Rugged Cross Stables is not a place for drama, and we are very much a family. You don't need to like everyone but we all need to get along
5) Its summer, its hot. Bring water!!!

10/06/2020

All lessons cancelled for today. It's too hot

31/05/2020

More slots will open up the June 15th week.
Please be patient I'm trying

31/05/2020

Hi everyone!
lessons will be starting up slowly. Due to COVID-19 I have had to make some changes to the barn,
I will have a waiver that needs to be completed once by every rider. Then there is an additional waiver that will be required to be completed by ANYONE that comes into the facility area.
There is also a sign in/out form that needs to be completed by everyone entering. Also everyone must use the sanitizer prior to entering facility area.
At this time, lessons will be 30 minute private lessons. There will be 15 minutes between lessons to ensure that the person who rode before has exited before anyone else enters. Remember we are only allowed 5 people in an area at a time.
Each rider is allowed to have one parent/guardian with them.
Horses will be groomed and tacked up before you ride by myself (Denise). I know that part of the barn experience is socializing, but unfortunately that is not possible at this time. You will not be permitted into any of the stalls, tack rooms or washroom. I know that I usually ask riders to come to the barn early, but I need you to be in there maximum 5 minutes before your lesson starts.

The first week of lessons will be very limited and only over 3 days. I need to work out the kinks before opening up more slots. I hope that everyone understands.

remember horses have been on the same "vacation" as you have been so the 30 minute lesson is for them as much as it is for you. Also I will not be using ANY horse back to back over this period, I will try to accommodate as many lessons/people as I can. Please note at this time any of the younger riders that require my assistance getting on/off horses as well as needing me to be near them on a horse will need to wait a couple more weeks while I come u0p with a way to stay 6+ feet away due to social distancing.

Lesson days June 8, 9,& 10
times 4-430, 445-515, 530-6, 615-645 7-730
please message below day/time that works for you. Remember once kinks are out I will be opening more time slots

thank you for your support and understanding this difficult time.
