So glad someone posted about this, I was just thinking about it yesterday and thinking I hadn’t heard an update. I guess I missed this!

AMHA is now allowing PSSM1 testing through the registry. So happy to read this! I have tested all of my breeding horses for pssm1 through with a couple labs but I will be working going forward to ensure my testing is done through UC Davis so that the results can be recorded with AMHA on any of our dual registered horses. Hopefully we can work with the Canadian registry to find a way to record the results of our Canadian registered Morgan’s as well.

Well, I was planning to play with Phoenix a bit on the lunge line and get her used to saddle pad and surcingle, but when we got to the arena she was far more keen on working at Liberty and tricks so I changed gears and we went through some of her repertoire. I haven’t been able to spend much time with her this summer with other horses taking my time, and Phoenix was soooo keen to please.

She learned to do a kneel quite young, but hadn’t been able to quite figure out a lay down. I didn’t push her on it and haven’t worked on any of these tricks in months, but today I asked if we could try the kneel and instead she gave her very first lay down!!! I was so shocked and excited! What a smart girl!! 💞🐴

I can’t wait until someday she and her momma Raine can perform together ❤️
