We are going to have two open houses for people to come and see the clinic/trailer and learn more about what a low cost spay and neuter clinic looks and works like.

If the recently declared State of Emergency in BC hasn’t prompted you to be prepared to evacuate with your pet, then we hope this is the reminder you need. More heavy rain is predicted for the next several days and water levels are already high. Campbell River was lucky during the last storm compared to other areas but that could change unexpectedly. We highly recommend you have a kennel/carrier to confine your cat/dog if you need to evacuate your home. Attached are several helpful links you should check out before you’re in an emergency situation. Another important tip is to make sure that your pet’s tattoo is legible, you know what it is and that the vet who did it has your current contact info. If they are microchipped make sure the registry also has current details.

Theo has been in our care for 100 days.

In late July, a four week old Theo was discovered all alone, struggling to stay alive and battling an infected abscess on his stomach. He was quickly brought into our care and provided with life saving care from our veterinary partners at Brookswood.

Unfortunately, Theo's journey was far from over. After a few weeks in the care of one of our loving foster moms, it was discovered that Theo was also battling ringworm. After long months in our ISOasis, little Theo is finally all grown up, healthy, and ready to find his home.

It's moments like these that remind us why we do what we do. Please keep an eye on our website for when Theo is ready to be adopted, lapsbc.ca.
