Our friends at BlackBike Farm have their 2024 organically grown garlic and potato crop now ready for purchase!

Garlic:
Ukrainian Red - moderate heat, long-lasting taste and excellent for raw use
Korean Purple - moderate heat and good sweet flavour
Red Russian- easy to peel cloves with robust garlic flavor and a warm lingering aftertaste
Chesnok Red - well balanced with flavour rich, sweet, complex, medium to strong heat, a good choice for baking
Majestic - intense and aggressive flavour
German White - robust, rich and long lasting flavour and no heat, great for raw eating
Yugoslavian - large cloves with strong flavor, high heat and long storage (limited amounts)
Northern Quebec - has a deep, rich taste, and moderate heat (limited amounts)
Susan Della - hot and flavourful and stores well (limited amounts)
Newfoundland Tall - has lots of heat and is very flavourful (limited amounts)

XL bulb: $5
M/L bulb: $4
The garlic can keep for a good amount of time when stored in a cool, dark and dry place - but not in the refrigerator.

SAVINGS: Paper lunch bag of mixed garlic bulbs at $50/bag of about 14-16 bulbs.

Potatoes:
We have a bumper crop at $3/lb.
Santino - Smooth and buttery – excellent for mashing
Siegelinde - very smooth light yellow potato with very thin skin. The flesh is firm and great for storing through the winter. An excellent potato for roasting and boiling.
French Fingerling - best boiled or roasted. French fingerlings are known for their gourmet flavour and firm waxy texture when cooked. red skin containing light yellow flesh
LaRatte Fingerling - light yellow flesh and a creamy, nutty flavour. Ideal when baked, boiled or in a potato salad.
Russet - white, dry, soft, and it is suitable for baking, mashing, and french fries.
Norland - smooth red skin and white flesh which is quite versatile for both boiling and baking.
Yukon Gold - all-purpose potato, yellow skinned and white fleshed suitable for mashing, roasting, boiling, frying and sauteing.
Red Chieftain - bright red skin with nice white flesh great for home fries, chipping and boiled.
