This is probably what insanity looks like😅 we got a few extra dogs around these days and suddenly my group went from 4 to 7. Midge, who usually lives with my brother-in-law and his family, is here while they are on vacation for spring break. Asia, from our A litter, is here for a few days over spring break as well. And Waylon, from our H litter, is here for an extended stay and a bit of training as well.
We're all enjoying the warm weather and muddy, slushy yard- at least the 4 legged ones are 😂

Draco's DNA test came back clear for all genetic diseases pertaining to the German Shepherd breed! (Others as well, but as they are not diseases or issues a GSD gets, they are not really relevant) This is the first step in his health testing, and i am very pleased with the results. Next up is OFA for hips & elbows, as well as Pennhip. But that will have to wait until he's 2... his preliminary xrays look good though!

Well, Mr. Hunter (yellow) made it to his new home in Tulita, NWT! That is definitely the farthest north any of my pups have gone 😄 He is settling in well and getting to know his new big 'brother' R***r and kitty sister Miss Pearl. I look forward to seeing more of his adventures in the Great White North!

Another year has come and gone, and with it many changes! One of the biggest highlights of any year, for me, is raising a litter of puppies and getting to know so many wonderful new people as the pups head off to their new homes. I cherish the relationships I've formed along the way and don't know how to truly express my gratitude for each one of you who has taken on the raising of one of our pups. Bringing puppies into the world always has an element of stress- how will I find the right people for each unique pup? And somehow, it always works and I am so thankful to each and everyone of you who allows me to keep pursuing my dream of raising the ultimate family dog- protector, companion, adventure buddy- whatever you need in a dog, a German Shepherd is sure to be able to provide it!

I've been sitting on some pretty exciting news for this last while..... I am proud to announce the latest addition to our kennel, Drago vom Jungen Bluth, "Draco"! As many of you know, Reacher was not working out as a stud dog prospect, due to an overbite. His breeder was extremely helpful, and offered to bring me a dog back from Germany. I could not be more thrilled with this young dog. He is affectionate, gentle, intelligent, and ready to work! He is turning one end of December, so he has some growing to do and some health tests to pass, of course, but his prelims look good. Draco is fitting into our existing group of dogs well, and acts like he's lived here his whole life after only one short week with us. Stay tuned for more updates on the gorgeous boy, and our future breeding plans with him 🤩

Hunter reminded me of Juneau today after he carefully and quietly shredded a piece of paper into teeny pieces. She is about the same age in the picture as her puppies are now!

Silence is golden unless you have a puppy..... then it is very suspicious.
Juneau, criminal mastermind, went into the basement, down treacherous stairs, braved a dark hallway, found the suspicious toilet paper, wrestled it back up the stairs and into the kitchen, where it ultimately met its demise.

H Litter is 14 weeks old today! I've been loving the updates I get from everyone- I got pictures of all the boys this week 🥰 I guess the girls were too busy to sit still for pictures 😂 Big surprise there!

Mr. Hero at his vet appointment today- his owner has been training him in scent detection and brought along a hide to test his skills in this new (and smelly!) environment. Look at him go! Great job to both ends of the leash😉

Hero (grey) and Jack (green) have left the nest 🥹🥹 I'm so excited for these boys and their new families!
Remi (red) left last evening but I forgot to get a picture as it was dark and rainy 🤦‍♀️ She's next door neighbors to her brother Waylon, so they had a play date this morning!

9 weeks old today! "Remi" (red) is off to her new home later today, and "Hero" (grey) and "Jack" (green) leave tomorrow ❤️🩶💚
The goodbyes are hard, but I'm so excited for their new families and adventures!
Hunter (yellow) and Sirius (teal) will be here for a while longer to keep the place from feeling too empty...
The pups went on an adventure walk with me which involved starting a generator pump 😅 they were a bit surprised by the loud noise but all took it in stride. I'm so pleased with this litter's overall confidence!

The remaining pups continue to grow and change everyday!
Green (now Jack) dropped an ear today- typical during teething but always funny nonetheless 😄 I never know what state I'll find the ears in when I get out there in the morning....He goes to his new home on Saturday💚
Yellow (now Hunter) is staying with us for a couple months for a board and train before going his family in the Northwest Territories 💛
Grey (now Hero) also heads off to his new life in southern Alberta on Saturday 🩶
Red girl is still in the market for her own family, and I hope she finds it soon, as she worms herself deeper into my heart every passing day. Saucy and sweet... I have a type, remember??
And sweet boy Teal... he had a low grade heart murmur at his puppy check up, so he is staying with us until his 12 week check up and we'll see from there. He's an absolute love of a puppy very laid back and affectionate...he's a joy to have around 🩵
From what I hear, the others are doing well in their new homes, getting into mischief and making up for it by moments of sweetness 😉
