This is probably what insanity looks likeπ
we got a few extra dogs around these days and suddenly my group went from 4 to 7. Midge, who usually lives with my brother-in-law and his family, is here while they are on vacation for spring break. Asia, from our A litter, is here for a few days over spring break as well. And Waylon, from our H litter, is here for an extended stay and a bit of training as well.
We're all enjoying the warm weather and muddy, slushy yard- at least the 4 legged ones are π
Post some pictures or videos of your dogs enjoying spring below- I'd love to see some updates!

Mr. Hero at his vet appointment today- his owner has been training him in scent detection and brought along a hide to test his skills in this new (and smelly!) environment. Look at him go! Great job to both ends of the leashπ

7 weeks!
Due to my less than spectacular skills at videoing, I somehow did not catch all 8 minutes of the puppies' rainy day woodland walk. π but they thoroughly enjoyed sniffing the underbrush and scrambling over deadfall! Then back to the garage to dry off and warm up with marrow bones and dinner in their crates - 20 minutes with doors closed, and almost all sleeping by the time I opened the doors. Most opted to stay or just moved one crate over to join a sibling. Progress! I did get some of them on video, (see link) but apparently today is not my day for good footage π
Crate time with marrow bones and doors closed! They did so well for their first time. I also introduced them to a tarp today- those videos are on the Google link.
7 weeks tomorrow! Now the countdown is really on!!
Pool party again today, this time with cans and bottles. The puppies were not fazed in the least- the noise and a feel of the cans bumping into them had no effect on their focus on the finding the treats. Good puppies!
Wednesday is their first vet check & then I will announce who is going to which lucky family!
I also added more unedited videos to the photo link- I will continue to do so, so keep checking back for updates π
6 weeks old today! I have no idea where the time has gone, as I'm pretty sure they just got their eyes open π
Today's activity was snacks in an empty kiddie pool. All the puppies did great and showed no fear of the slippery surface and noise of the pool...next time I will put some empty cans and bottles in to add some difficulty. I am so proud of this litter and their eagerness to try new things, as well as their affectionate, people pleasing natures. Due to the rainy weather, I'll wait until tomorrow to take updated pictures...they're all a little bedraggled today! We still have 2 males and a female looking for their perfect families....
Here is a link to more videos from our outside time today, as I can't seem to post more than one at a time! This may be more efficient...

Puppies are doing so well and growing so fast. As you can see, Green collar has one ear up already π
Dinner time!
Puppies are responding well to the "puppy, puppy" call, which preps them for rock solid recalls later!
Outside time yesterday- and family time with Grandma Rowan and sister Vesper. Reacher isn't so sure about them- he likes them, but not when they lick his legs π
Puppies were feeling spicy tonight, play fighting and biting everything in sight-primarily me π I expanded their pen again to fit in more grass pads and they are doing very well with minimal accidents off of them... another week or so and I will introduce them to the dogdoor and they will start going outside to do their business.
Today's novel item was our little cat tunnel, complete with cat hair for extra sniffing delight π
Well, the puppy pen is clean once again; at least for a few short minutes! Everyone is fed, had their nails trimmed, were played with, and cuddled. They had a little outdoor time today, and will get more tomorrow. Miss Pink wasn't quite ready to go to sleep with every one else- she had been busy "helping" me and was making sure I didn't need any more of her excellent assistance π
