It's the most wonderful time of the year! 🐮

As many of you may know calving season is arriving! Although some have started calving, others are soon to begin. March and April are typically the busiest for calving and calving related emergencies. And we would like our clients to be aware that this may impact scheduled appointments with us.

We will do our best to keep all appointments on schedule, but with only one vet available for calving related emergencies there may be some last minute adjustments and changes.

Please be understanding, and should an emergency interfere with your appointment we will do our best to work with your schedule and get it changed.

We found this guy running around the streets by the clinic. He has a blue/teal nylon collar on but no name tags. We have him inside to stay warm but we suspect he has an owner!

Did you know October is RVT month across Canada? RVT's wear many hats in a vet clinic and are vital to ensuring day to day operations run smoothly.

Farm Docs Animal Health Services is looking for an enthusiastic veterinarian in training to join our team for summer 2024! We are looking for a vet student interested in all areas of a rural mixed practice. From horses and cows, to cats and bunnies - we see them all!

Farm Docs is located in Spiritwood, SK surrounded by forest and lakes, while also having three city centers within a less than 2 hours radius. We are a well equipped mixed animal practice (roughly 60% Large/40% Small) including portable x-rays, ultrasounds, blood machines, a tilt table, and more. The first half of summer will provide opportunities to see bovine calving cases as well as supporting our major semen testing season and later transitioning to a majority of small animal and equine cases.

October is Agriculture month in Saskatchewan! It is also the time when preg testing starts to ramp up and fill the vets schedule during the week. While we typically have small animal and equine appointments 4-5 days a week, they will be reduced to 1-2 days a week beginning October 23rd.

Also - if you are still waiting to book in for preg testing, we have very limited spots left in October and November and are booking into December.

So give us a call (306) 883-2370 or stop in Monday-Friday between 9-5 to schedule in.
