Due to the increase in after-hours calls we are no longer able to accomodate after-hours small animal emergencies for NON-clients. We currently only have one veterinarian for small and large animal emergencies as well as daily appointments. It is a difficult decision, but we want to ensure we are able to support the clients who support us.

For our current clients, nothing will be changing and we will still be available should an emergency arise!

If you are not currently client, but would like to have a veterinarian available for your animals during business hours and after hours, we are accepting new clients! Give us a call during business hours to book an appointment: 306-883-2370

While calving season has begun for some, we are heading into the busiest part in the next couple of months!

Just a few reminders about some delays you may experience at the clinic during this time. If your scheduled appointment will be impacted by a calving related emergency we will do our best to accommodate you when rescheduling. Please be understanding as we navigate this busy, unpredictable, season with our limited veterinary staff.

Today was the last day for Dr. Jensen at Farm Docs! 😢 We will miss you!
Sarah has been with us since May and as sad as we are to see her go, we are excited for her future working as a cattle vet in Alberta!🐮 They are lucky to have her!

Sarah has enjoyed her time here and loved getting to know many people and animals in the community! She has a Goodbye message for everyone:

📢UPDATE to our emergency call services📢

Starting January 23rd our after hours emergency call services will be changing. We have partnered with Animal healthlink to help streamline our after hours calls. We hope this service will provide additional support for our clients concerns, while freeing up time and availability with our veterinarians for actual emergencies.

Here are the highlights:
🐾 The after hours number remains the same - 306-883-2370 - call the clinic as you normally would
🐾 Follow the prompts and you will be connected with a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) who will assess your situation and collect information
🐾 The RVT will either provide support or you will be directed to meet our on call veterinarian at the clinic if it is deemed an emergency
🐮With calving season ramping up, all calving calls are deemed emergencies and the RVT will collect brief information and inform the veterinarian to meet you for the call.

We believe this service will be a benefit to both our clients and our limited veterinary staff. If you have questions, comments, or concerns please reach out to our staff during business hours (Monday-Friday 9-5) at 306-883-2370!

Christmas and New Years are right around the corner! Please note our updated holiday hours, including some full day and half day closures. Emergency after hours services will be available throughout the holidays.

If you need an appointment, medications, or pet food before the holidays, give us a call at 306-883-2370. This Friday (December 20th) at 1 PM is the cutoff for orders to ensure they are ready for pickup before we close for Christmas.

With the ongoing Canada Post strike, please reconsider paying your statements by mailed cheque. Payment for work done is expected to be paid on time to avoid interest charges on your account.

We accept multiple forms of payment in-person, and accept e-transfer or payment over the phone.

Please call the clinic at (306) 883-2370 if you have any questions or concerns regarding paying your statements, or for more information on alternative payment methods.

Please note the clinic will be closed this long weekend for Remembrance Day. Clinic will reopen and regular hours will resume Tuesday, November 12 at 9 AM.

Preg checking season is one of our busiest times of the year as a mixed animal practice! Learn about preg checking 101 below!

Don’t forget - it’s best to call a few weeks ahead if you have a particular day/time in mind as we are already mostly full for November. However, we still have lots of space for December!

You can also give us a call ahead of time to have your vaccines or medication brought out with the vet to save you a trip into the clinic!

Our final Staff Spotlight is Dr. Justin Hodgson!🐾

Dr. Hodgson (he will tell you to just call him Justin), purchased the Spiritwood vet clinic in August 2023. It was renamed, and he has worked so hard in clinic and behind the scenes to make Farm Docs what it is today. He often goes above and beyond, working late and on weekends, to make sure clients and patients are well taken care of.
A big thank you to Justin for all his hard work, your dedication to the clinic doesn't go unnoticed!

The next Staff Spotlight is our newest veterinarian, Dr. Sarah Jensen🐾

Dr. Jensen joined us in May of 2024 after graduating from the WCVM. Since then we have been so lucky to see her grow and become more confident as a vet. Thank you Sarah for supporting the community as a wonderful mixed animal vet. We are so happy you decided to join the Farm Docs team!
