Can’t wait to share with you the theme for this litter. With each litter, I tell myself I’m not going to overthink the theme. I will just pick something easy and not put much thought into it, but what I have realized is that just isn’t me. I really do believe everything has purpose. These puppies have purpose! Big things happen in life and they inspire me and make me want to do more. I hope our theme inspires you and makes you want the same. Stay tuned for our theme. We will be sharing soon!

Here at Down with Doodles, we follow the Badass Breeder guide with Jeanette Forrey at 4E Kennels. The work she does to improve breeding practices across the globe is inspiring. I admire her work and that everything is done with purpose.

We are so happy to officially announce that Suki had 9 healthy, adorable puppies on August 8th. These puppies should range from 20-35 pounds. Happiest 2nd Birthday to our very first litter, our Blue Jays litter!!! We have seen how they have impacted the people around them for the better. They are definitely changing lives and healing hearts and we feel so honoured to have been a small part of their journeys. If you have one of our Blue Jays pups, share a birthday picture and tag us . Suki should be about 4 1/2 weeks pregnant by now. We choose not to ultrasound and wait to see signs of her pregnancy in a more natural way. This means we need to have a bit more patience as it takes longer to be able to visibly see. That being said, she is certainly showing signs of pregnancy. This heat wave hasn’t been her favourite for sure. In the past day or two, we definitely are starting to feel like she is pregnant and we couldn’t be more excited about that. We will give it a couple more days so we know for sure, but we are feeling very hopeful and so excited!! Stay tuned!!! ♥️

Finding comfort when you’re pregnant. Anyone else have a problem getting comfortable when you are expecting? Believe it or not, Suki does very well pregnant. She is so fit and healthy that it doesn’t seem to phase her too much. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t get tons of extra tender loving care. She gets lots of snuggles and massages. She is definitely spoiled. She loves to hang out on the stairs. They are in the center of our home and she can keep an eye on what’s happening up or down there. She finds comfort in the weirdest positions. She is such a silly girl. We love her so much. We couldn’t imagine our family without her. Stay tuned to see a post about dam health and why we breed back to back.

We are so excited to announce this pairing! Petrie comes to us from the same amazing therapy lines as our previous sire, Gunner, from our friends at Bow Valley Labradoodles. Petrie is 23 pounds and stands 15” tall. He has an amazing temperament and this is exactly why we chose him. We expect puppies to be from 23-35 pounds with soft, velvety, wavy caramel, red, chocolate and parti coats. They will be stunning and their temperaments will be perfect. We are all so excited to see how these beautiful puppies will change lives and heal hearts. 💕

These two have loved spending their days together. I wonder if “Sammi” (Belle) will know who Suki is after she goes to the groomer today to get shaved. She will certainly look like a different gal. I usually shave her down after she has had puppies. They are so hard on her coat. Kneading away as they nurse. Good thing it all grows back. We will miss our shaggy looking girl but it’s a good way to get her coat looking amazing🔥 again. Start from scratch. Wish us luck. Haha
