Neutering has lots of benefits: ✨ Helps reduce the risk of certain health problems ✨ Prevents unwanted litters (because we want all kitties to find loving homes) ✨ Can help with behavior improvements – like less roaming and marking territory!
Mouse handled it like a champ and is already back to cuddling, purring, and being his mischievous self. 😻

Nash would like to share the importance of taking your dog or cat to the vet for their annual visit it is an essential part of maintaining their overall health and well-being. During this visit, your dog or cat will typically receive their annual vaccinations, undergo a physical exam, and you’ll have the chance to ask questions or raise any concerns you may have about their health. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect during the appointment and why these yearly visits are so important.
Physical Exam: A Comprehensive Health Check
The first part of the visit usually involves a thorough physical exam, which allows the veterinarian to assess your dog or cat’s overall health. The vet will look for signs of illness or discomfort and check for any physical abnormalities. Here’s what they’ll typically do:
Body Condition and Weight: The vet will check if your pet is at a healthy weight, as obesity can lead to various health problems such as arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease.
Coat and Skin: They’ll inspect your pets coat for signs of skin issues, such as dryness, rashes, hot spots, or parasites like fleas or ticks.
Eyes, Ears, and Nose: The vet will check your pet’s eyes for signs of irritation or infection and examine their ears for wax buildup, infections, or signs of allergies.
Teeth and Gums: Dental health is crucial, so the vet will check your pet’s teeth for plaque, tartar, or gum disease, which can lead to more severe health issues if untreated.
Heart and Lungs: Using a stethoscope, the vet will listen to your pet’s heart and lungs for any irregularities like murmurs or abnormal breathing.
Abdomen and Limbs: The vet will palpate the abdomen to check for tenderness, bloating, or lumps, and they will check joints and muscles for signs of stiffness or pain.
If your pet is showing signs of discomfort or you’ve noticed any changes in behavior, such as limping, difficulty eating, or excessive thirst, this is the time to mention those symptoms so the vet can investigate further.

Starting August 1st, all dogs entering the US are required to appear healthy upon arrival, be at least 6 months of age, be microchipped, and be accompanied by a CDC Dog Import Form online submission receipt. It is recommended to complete the CDC Dog Import Form at least 8 weeks prior to travel. If your pet has been in a country that is on the list of high-risk countries for dog rabies within the past six months, they will also need proof of rabies vaccination. In some cases, proof of rabies vaccine isn’t required, but strongly recommended. For all the details on these new travel requirements, visit https://www.cdc.gov/importation/bringing-an-animal-into-the-united-states/dogs-entering-us-after-august-1.html
Because of these new requirements, a bit of pre-planning is required ahead of time, so we strongly recommend reviewing the CDC guidelines well before any trip through or to the US.
