With Spring in full bloom, keep an eye out for these common issues that can pop up during the season:
🤧 Allergies – Scratching, licking, chewing, scooting, ear discharge, hair loss, or skin changes
🐜 Fleas & Ticks – More pests = higher risk of bites & disease
🌱 Grass & Pollen Sensitivities – Paw licking, skin irritation, or hot spots
🚫 Spring Toxins – Fertilizers, pesticides, and certain plants can be harmful
If your pet is showing any of these signs, we’re here to help! Contact us today for relief options and keep them feeling their best.

Meet little Miss Cedar.

Cedar saw this delicious biking glove on the trail and had to swallow it before her owners had a chance to stop her! Her owner called us immediately and we were able to induce vomiting within the hour and safely get the glove out. 🧤
—————————————————————————————

This is a good reminder that if you know your pet has eaten something — socks, gloves, toys, medication, unknown toxins, chocolate, or aren’t sure if they can eat what they have eaten — contact your local vet immediately.

With some foreign bodies or toxins we can potentially monitor but in many situations we would opt to induce vomiting or treat toxicities.

‼️Don’t just assume “my dog will p**p it out”. A sock might come out easily one time, but the next time it could require surgery.

How do you protect your patients incisions after surgery?!

We all know and trust the classic cone! But for some animals, looking into alternatives can help them have a more comfortable recovery.

Jasper is a perfect example of the inflatable Kong cloud collar AND a pet medical pet shirt.

These options are something to look into and are suitable for some (not all!) patients post surgery.

Ask your veterinarian or technician about these options and whether they think they are suitable. If there is ever a chance a patient can lick around the cloud collar or through the pet shirt, we will always recommend a regular classic cone for best protection!

Did you know?
Around 80% of orange cats are male due to the genetics behind their coat colour. The orange hue comes from the X chromosome, and since males only need one copy to be ginger (while females need two), it's more common for orange cats to be boys.

Our staff member found a chipmunk stuck in a mouse trap close to the vet hospital (not our trap). Poor little Theo was just looking for a snack! 🐿️🧀

Lorissa and Steph safely collected him in a bin and brought him into the clinic. They removed the trap from his little foot and kept him safe in a small box.

We kept him to monitor for a little bit and then we discovered he decided to escape his box and he made the choice he was ready to be released!

Theo was safely released on a tree outside, but before running away he came back to say goodbye to his rescuer Lorissa.

When dealing with wild life please always make sure to protect yourself before helping them. Wear gloves to protect from disease and the risk of bites. Wash your hands well and properly clean and sterilize the area after. 🧤🧼

We do not treat wild life at Eagleview so if you do find some in need, you can call for advice or contact wildlife rehabs/ sanctuaries in the city.
